We use many different fibers all with features and advantages that make them perfect for a given job. Natural Fibers Horsehair blend is ideal for dust and light dirt on smooth surfaces Tampico is resistant to heat, acid and alkali and cleans medium debris from smooth and semi smooth surfaces. Palmyra is ideal for both wet and dry sweeping applications and is effective with medium and heavy debris on both semi-smooth and rough surfaces. Bass is a very coarse natural fiber that is ideal for removing heavy debris from rough surfaces. Synthetic Fibers Synthetic fibers are man-made from polystyrene, PET, nylon, PVC and polypropylene. These materials are very durable and can be used in wet and dry sweeping applications. Synthetic fibers come in a variety of diameters, stiff- ness and colors. For fine debris, the ends are often mechanically split, forming multiple feathered tips to pick up fine dust and dirt on smooth surfaces. These fibers are not recommended for use on wet surfaces.
