San Manuel Indian Nation, Calif. – March 9, 2012 – Thursday, April 12, 2012, San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino welcomes the return of Don Rickles, and for the first time to the San Manuel stage, internationally renowned comedienne, Joan Rivers. Tickets are on sale today and available at Ticketmaster.com and the San Manuel Box Office for $45 and $55. Don Rickles For almost 55 years Don Rickles, with his “insult” style of comedy, has appeared in top showrooms in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, as well as concert halls throughout the U.S. and internationally. He is considered one of the world’s top entertainers. Rickles has made frequent TV talk-show appearances with hosts such as Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Regis Philbin. In 2007, he starred in the John Landis-directed documentary, “Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project”, which earned him an Emmy nomination. Along with his success in standup comedy, Rickles has made his mark in motion pictures. He had roles in the cult classic “Kelly’s Heroes”, “Rat Race”, and “Casino”. In addition, he was the voice of Mr. Potato Head in the animated films “Toy Story 1” and “Toy Story 2”. In 1984, Rickles was invited by President Reagan to perform at the televised Inaugural Ball, in which he didn’t hold back on his comedic performance and “zinged” the President and the Vice President, among others. Joan Rivers Like Don Rickles, Joan Rivers can stake claim to a successful entertainment career spanning over four decades, and attributes her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” with her career skyrocketing from cabaret shows to her own talk show, “That Show with Joan Rivers.” With more talk show success, Rivers launched a jewelry collection on QVC in 1990. This allowed her to tap into the fashion world, later landing her currently gig on “Fashion Police” on E! Entertainment. Not only a comedienne and fashion laureate, Rivers is a best-selling author of two books, reality-show star appearing on “The Celebrity Apprentice” and “Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?” both alongside her daughter Melissa Rivers. Every Thursday night with headliner entertainment, San Manuel gives away $1,000 just for seeing the show. Senior women are incapable of reproduction, mastering their bodies, or arousing sexual desire in themselves or others. The senior actresses’ I explore in the case studies below insert their performances of self and their everyday lives into the large and complicated discourse of sex, producing a counter-narrative to sexually inactive senior women. Their performances actively embody their sexuality outside the frame of a character. This thesis examines how senior actresses’ performances of sexuality extend a discourse of sexuality imposed on older woman by mass media. These women are the public face of senior women’s sexual agency.

  • Lisa Donovan Has Been Hailed by Critics As an All- Around Entertainer Who Can Do It All
Lisa Donovan has been hailed by critics as an all- around entertainer who can do it all. As an actress, she won an award from the Southern California Motion Picture Council as "Outstanding Newcomer of the Year." As a singer, Lisa consistently receives rhapsodic reviews from the toughest critics in the business. As a comedienne, she's been praised for performing comedy with Lucille-Ball-like precision timing. And as a dancer, she received high critical praise from no less a publication than The New York Times. Lisa just finished a two-year run as Mother Superior in the delightful, world-famous musical comedy NUNSENSE at the now-named Westgate Hotel, formerly the Las Vegas Hilton, the hotel Elvis Presley called home. Lisa proved her enormous singing range on the long-running television show FACE THE MUSIC, which was broadcast first in national syndication and later on cable networks for more than a decade. On that show Lisa performed everything from soft rock to light opera and set some Guiness-type world records. In all, she sang parts of more than eleven thousand musical numbers. On the New York stage, Lisa starred in a revival of BABES IN ARMS, directed by the legendary Ginger Rogers, who hand-picked Lisa for the role. That's the play in which Lisa received all that praise from The New York Times, which actually likened her to a young Ginger Rogers. Lisa has performed non-musically as well. On the stage in Los Angeles, she played all three female roles in Sean Waldron's chilling drama about atomic radiation poisoning.

Among the twenty-eight awards handed out over the course of the Television Academy’s diamond anniversary event, which was telecast live on ABC, HBO topped the night with 10 winged statuettes. NBC followed with four. Combined with its awards at last Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmys, HBO led for the year as well, with 26 in all. Leading the recipients of multiple awards between the two awards ceremonies was HBO’s seven-part historical miniseries John Adams, with 13 Emmys, surpassing a miniseries record set by another HBO production, Angels in America, which won 11 in 2004, and ABC’s Eleanor and Franklin, which won 11 in 1976. In another landmark, 2008 was the first time an Emmy was awarded for outstanding host for a reality or reality-competition program. The five nominees, Tom Bergeron (Dancing with the Stars), Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Howie Mandel (Deal or No Deal), Jeff Probst (Survivor) and Ryan Seacrest (American Idol) — commemorated the new category by hosting the festivities.
