(Unofficial Translation) Order of the Centre for the Administration of the Situation due to the Outbreak of the Communicable Disease Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) No. 1/2564 Re : COVID-19 Zoning Areas Categorised as Maximum COVID-19 Control Zones based on Regulations Issued under Section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations B.E. 2548 (2005) ------------------------------------ Pursuant to the Declaration of an Emergency Situation in all areas of the Kingdom of Thailand as from 26 March B.E. 2563 (2020) and the subsequent 8th extension of the duration of the enforcement of the Declaration of an Emergency Situation until 15 January B.E. 2564 (2021); In order to efficiently manage and prepare the prevention of a new wave of outbreak of the communicable disease Coronavirus 2019 in accordance with guidelines for the COVID-19 zoning based on Regulations issued under Section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations B.E. 2548 (2005), by virtue of Clause 4 (2) of the Order of the Prime Minister No. 4/2563 on the Appointment of Supervisors, Chief Officials and Competent Officials Responsible for Remedying the Emergency Situation, issued on 25 March B.E. 2563 (2020), and its amendments, the Prime Minister, in the capacity of the Director of the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration, with the advice of the Emergency Operation Center for Medical and Public Health Issues and the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration of the Ministry of Interior, hereby orders Chief Officials responsible for remedying the emergency situation and competent officials to carry out functions in accordance with the measures under the Regulations, for the COVID-19 zoning areas categorised as maximum control zones according to the list of Provinces attached to this Order. -

Wat Phra That Hariphunchai ( ) Sited in Mid-Town, It Was Built During the Reign of King Arthitayarat, a Descendant of Queen Chamthewi Some 800 Years Ago
Amphoe Mueang Lamphun 01 - Wat Phra That Hariphunchai ( ) Sited in mid-town, it was built during the reign of King Arthitayarat, a descendant of Queen Chamthewi some 800 years ago. A principal landmark is the 46-metre tall golden Chedi whose present appearance was the result of the restoration work in 1443 by a king of Chiang Mai. It has long been regarded as a major place of worship. Other architectural works include the ancient-style brick arch adorned with fine designs and the pair of sculptured lions at the door. There are also a square-shaped Chedi and a Khmer-style Buddha statue. 02 - Hariphunchai National Museum ( ). Located on Inthayongyot Road almost opposite Wat Phra That Hariphunchai it displays and exhibits include historical development and archaeological items found in Lamphun. These include prehistorical human skeletons and objects of arts from the Dvaravati, Hariphunchai, Lanna and Rattanakosin periods. A chamber is devoted to a collection of inscription stones in Mon and Lanna scripts. Another displays ancient utensils, Lanna indigenous arts and carvings. The museum is open Wednesday-Sunday from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. 03 - Phra Nang Chamthewi Statue ( ) Located in the Nong Dok public park in town commemorating the first ruler of Hariphunchai. 04 - Suthewa Rusi Statue ( ) In front of the Town Hall, the Legend has it that the Rusi, or ascetic, was the actual founder of Hariphunchai. As an ascetic refraining from worldly affairs he invited Phra Nang Chamthevi, a daughter of the King of Lopburi, to ascend the throne and helped her to firmly establish Buddhism in the land. -

Or, ces derniers existent bel et bien. Antérieurement, nous avons déjà démontré que le concept de Maîtres existe depuis toujours dans les traditions spirituelles. Non seulement ce concept ne s'oppose pas à ces traditions spirituelles, mais les Maîtres ont entièrement fondé ces dernières. Ainsi, lorsque les esprits matérialistes nient l'existence des Maîtres de Sagesse, des Mahatmas, des Bodhisattvas, des Xian Ren, des Dieux mythiques, des Saints, des Yogis réalisés spirituellement (ou tout autre nom que les religions et philosophies ont bien voulu leur donner), cela prouve au moins trois choses : ces esprits sceptiques ne comprennent pas l'essence des traditions spirituelles, ils ignorent la réalité ésotérique de la vie, et ils démontrent qu'ils ne sont pas en contact avec les Maîtres de Sagesse. La Sagesse Ancienne, la Doctrine Secrète, la Philosophie Eternelle, la Tradition Primordiale, tous ces vocables et bien d'autres encore évoquent l'idée d'une sagesse universelle, commune à tous les peuples et à toutes les époques. Les Maîtres sont à l'origine de la Sagesse Ancienne et en ont toujours assuré la cohésion et la pérennité. Aucun véritable ésotérisme n'est envisageable dès lors qu'on nie l'existence de ces Hommes et de ces Femmes parfaits, car la philosophie ésotérique et l'ascèse qui en découle n'ont fondamentalement qu'un seul but : la réalisation du Soi, avec pour conséquence l'accès à l'immortalité. -

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Data as reported by the CCSA mid-day press briefing 27 May 2021 WHO Thailand Situation Report THAILAND 141,217 SITUATION 920 46,469 93,828 UPDATE (+3,323) (+47) (+2,063) No. 184 Confirmed Deaths Hospitalized Recovered SPOTLIGHT • Today, 3,323 new cases of laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 were announced by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand. 47 new deaths were reported today. In addition, 1,201 patients are considered to have serious illness, 399 of which are currently receiving ventilatory support. • Of the cases reported in Thailand to date, 66.4% (93,828) have recovered, 0.7% (920) have died, and 32.9% (46,469) are receiving treatment or are in isolation: (18,335 are in conventional hospitals and 28,134 in field hospitals). • The 3,323 laboratory-confirmed cases reported today include: 1,219 cases in prison facilities. 1,132 cases detected through the routine surveillance system: (testing of people presenting at a healthcare facility for a variety of reasons, including presence of COVID-19 symptoms, contact with a case, concern about possible exposure). 951 cases identified through active case finding: (testing of people in the community at the initiative of public health authorities). 21 cases detected in quarantine after arriving in Thailand from another country. • The 10 Provinces reporting the greatest number of laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases today are Bangkok (894), Samut Prakan (280), Phetchaburi (233), Nonthaburi (129), Pathum Thani (98), Samut Sakhon (59), Chonburi (52), Chiang Rai (45), Nakhon Pathom (35), and Songkhla (31). • 22 provinces reported no new cases today. -

Source: Daud Tanudirjo. The grandeur of Borobudur has fascinated almost every visitor who views it. Situated in the heart of the island of Java in Indonesia, this remarkable stone structure is considered to be the most significant Buddhist monument in the Southern Hemisphere (Figure 1). In 1991, Borobudur 66 Transcending the Culture–Nature Divide in Cultural Heritage was inscribed on the World Heritage List, together with two other smaller stone temples, Pawon and Mendut. These three stone temples are located over a straight line of about three kilometres on an east-west orientation, and are regarded as belonging to a single temple complex (Figure 2). Known as the Borobudur Temple Compound, this World Heritage Site meets at least three criteria of the Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention: (i) to represent a masterpiece of human creative genius, (ii) to exhibit an important interchange of human values over a span of time or within cultural area of the world, on developments in architecture or technology, monumental arts, town planning or landscape design, and (iii) to be directly or tangibly associated with events or living traditions, with ideas, or with beliefs, with artistic and literacy works of outstanding universal value (see also Matsuura 2005). -

CURRENT SITUATION 1.1 Current flooded provinces: there are 9 recent flooded provinces: 1.1.1 Upper Thailand: There are 9 provinces affected by flood. Central: Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Pathumthani, Nonthaburi, Samutsakhon, and Bangkok. The total of 80 Districts, 560 Sub-Districts, 3,652 Villages, 1,654,044 families and/or 4,406,600 people are affected by the flood. The total fatalities are 698 deaths and 3 missing. (Missing: 2 in Mae Hong Son, and 1 in Uttaradit) 1.1.2 Southern Thailand: There were 8 province affected by flood, namely Phattalung, Trang, Surat Thani, Nahon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Song Kla, Yala and Phattani. The total of 65 Districts, 362 Sub-Districts, 2,057 Villages, 147,092 families and/or 472,227 people are affected by the flood. At Present, the situation is under recovery stage. 1.2 Amount of Rainfall: The heaviest rainfall in the past 24 hours is in Khampangpetch Sub-District, Rataphum District, Songkla Province at 21.5 mm. 1.3 Estimate Losses and Damages: 1.3.1 Agricultural impact : Farming areas which would be affected are estimated at 12.61 million rai; 215,719 rai of fish/shrimp ponds and 30.32 million livestock (source: Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives). -

(A 5.88) The (Ahitāya) Thera Sutta (A 5.88) is a vital warning that grounding in right view is imperative especially when we are presenting or representing the Buddha Dharma. The more people respect us, or listen to us, or turn to us for spiritual help, and the more we have the means of mass-propagating our Buddhist views, the more carefully we have to ascertain rightness and moral consequences of our efforts. The point is that status, learning, seniority, fame, wealth, and resources, advantageous as they may be in Buddhist work, are not sufficient standards for truth. While it is true that whatever we express are merely our own opinions, we must have the moral re- sponsibility at least to ensure that such opinions or facts reflect the true Dharma. Much as we have the freedom to publicize the teachings of a particular teacher or group, we must accept the fact that this may not be the only view of the true Dharma. The final test of what we propagate must be Dharma-based. The true teachings always stand above the teacher.1 After the Buddha‘s time, especially as Buddhism grows beyond India, such standards are not always possible, for various reasons. At first, Buddhism appears to change the culture, but in due course it is the culture that changes Buddhism, often turning it into a system vastly different, even contrary to the Dhar- ma of the Buddha. -

Forms and Types of Borobudur's Stupas

Revianur Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, Depok, Indonesia ABSTRACT: Candi Borobudur (Borobudur Temple) is the world’s largest Mahayana- Vajrayana Buddhist temple, which is located in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. It was built by the Sailendra dynasty between the 8th and 9th centuries A.D. The temple was built with 10-step pyramid terraces, which are decorated with 2,672 relief panels, 504 Buddha stat- ues, and 1,537 stupas. In this study, we aim to examine the forms and types of the stupas of Borobudur, which are composed of 1,536 secondary stupas and 1 primary stupa compared to those of other stupas found in Java and Bali islands. The stupas at Borobudur located from the second to ninth terraces are called the secondary stupas, whereas the one located on the tenth terrace is called the primary stupa. They are symbolic stupas, which consist of a base (Prasadha), a bell-shaped body (anda), a top support (harmika), and a top (yashti). The stupas are divided into four types, namely plain stupas, hollow space-square stupas, hollow space-diamond stupas containing the Dhyani Buddha Vairocana that represents the turn- ing wheel of the dharma and the single main stupa that becomes the centre of Borobudur Temple reflecting Sailedra art-style. Here, we use a qualitative method, which is based on field observation and historical sources. The objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive description of the stupas in Borobudur from the perspective of historical archaeology.
