Looking for some toilet reading I grabbed it recently dusted it off. The lead is a widower and single father who has been feeding his daughter instant meals and take out since his wife passed away until meeting a teenage student from the school he teaches at. The student, a high school girl, is also lonely because her mother is working all of the time and she's home alone all the time. The tri 3. The trio have a chance meeting and start cooking together. The story is a nice slice of life manga with a lot of heart warming laughs. I enjoyed it well enough but I'm not sure I would see it through to the end, twelve volumes later. However Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 you're looking for some sweet easy reading you could do worse. I think I would prefer a little heavier drama personally; though I probably haven't given it enough of a shot yet to make much of a judgement. This manga is getting an anime, so I thought I would check it out if the story and the characters were any good before the anime is starting. And it was quite good, a bit boring, a bit bland, but still fun. Though I do worry about which route the story will be taking. What is the worry? In the beginning Kotori is just a friend, a student of our MC, but as the story progresses you see that change, at least for Kotori. And I am worried how this will end. The MC is a teacher, she is his student, This manga is Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 an anime, so I thought I would check it out if the story and the characters were any good before the anime is starting. The MC is Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 teacher, she is his student, I wouldn't want to have a romance in this manga, it would complicate the easy-going story with unnecessary problems. I was also a bit worried about the kid, I have read several manga with kids and often I am just annoyed to death because the kids just don't seem to get basic manners, or they are just plain annoying. Thankfully Tsumugi is a sweet kid who cares a Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 about her father, she misses her mother which just pulls my heartstrings so much whenever she says the word Mommy. She also loves food, and it was just so much fun to see her enjoy her and also Kotori's food. This book is a bit like Usagi Drop though without all the Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 and one of those food anime like Koufuku Graffiti. The focus switches between caring for Tsumugi and making lots of delicious looking foods. The art is really gorgeous, I just love all the details, I love how the characters are drawn, and then that food. I can't wait to see this animated. Hopefully they will do it right. The father and daughter are affable enough, even if the father feels like an empty, everyman protagonist. Tsumugi is cute. The story's true focus is on the heroine Kotori. She's one of the dad's students, and through circumstances, Kotori Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 up helping to take care of Tsumugi through cooking. I'm not too sure what to make of Kotori. Her mother is never around, but it seems like she's just busy rather than grossly neglectful. Kotori seems constantly lonely, but in the last Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1, we meet one of her friends, who's just been conveniently absent all this time. I just dunno how I'd feel if it turns out to be a story about a teacher who has a relationship with one of his students. I wonder what the title means. At first, I thought it'd be Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 pun on the protagonists' names, but Iida to Inazuma thunder is kind of a stretch. I know Tsumugi means "to weave". It's an enjoyable slice of life story so far. Edit: I'll say one thing, Kotori has really big, well-defined eyes that are pretty. Jun 30, Mark Evans Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 it really liked it. Single parent with shockingly oops adorable young daughter seriously, Tsumugi is a really great child character finds himself cooking with a young girl whose mother is a minor celebrity who is never around. Even the little touches are really charming - I love how Iida, the teenager, is constantly eating at school for some reason - it reinforces how much of this story revolves around the joy of eating you could also argue that given how bored and perfunctory the act looks for her compared to her joy at cooking with Inuzaka that it also emphasizes how food is at its best when it brings people together. In his struggle to feed her well, he meets a student of his at her Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 restaurant and they begin an adventure of learning how to cook. It's sweet, having moments of humor and heartache. The picture below features a conversation the junior math teacher has with his student about making breakfast, since they aren't really supposed to meet up outside school, they have this conversation back-to-back by an open window. It's a cute day-in-the-life series about a widowed Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 who wants to do better raising his daughter by learning how to make more home-cooked meals for her. Loving father and cute little girl? That's all I needed to want to read this. I've already learned a thing or two. Super wholesome, super adorable!! This is really sweet and the little girl is adorable and cute. The father is a recent widower and has started to learn to cook instead of buying Bento boxes for every meal for his daughter. The man is a teacher and he meets a student of his whose mother owns a restaurant. When Kouhei saw his daughter excited about some food she saw on the TV he took her to a restaurant. S1, Ep2. Kohei makes food for Tsumugi. The two go back to the restaurant but this time Kohei helps with the cooking. S1, Ep3. Tsumugi gets in an argument with a boy at her nursery because some of the girls gave her clay. Tsumugi feels down but after eating the Hamburg steak that Kohei and Kotori made her mood gets better. S1, Ep4. Tsumugi doesn't like some vegetables so Kohei and Kotori focus on making food with vegetables. S1, Ep5. Kotori sees Tsumugi with a man that she doesn't recognize, she later finds out that the man is called Yagi and friends with Kohei. Kohei and Kotori decide to make doughnuts. S1, Ep6. Kohei asks Tsumugi what she would like him to make and she says squid. Kohei asks Kotori to help him make squid. S1, Ep9. Tsumugi has a sleep over at her nursery. When Tsumugi was at the nursery she mentioned that she liked home curry so Kohei decides to make dry curry with Kotori. S1, Ep Kohei and Tsumugi go to the beach but leave early Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 it's hot when leaving a family gives them three fish. The two go to Kotori's home to fillet the fish, when they arrive they get help from Shinobu as well. Tsumugi has a disagreement with her friend about who gets to play a character for her nursery play. Kotori will be making crepes for her school festival so everyone decides to make crepes. Tsumugi and Kohei eat at Sweetness and Lightning 1: 1 restaurant but leave because Tsumugi starts crying, after that, they go to cook at Kotori's house with Kortori, Shinobu, and Yagi.
