Ø We also encourage our faculty to pursue their research programme to enhance their knowledge. Ø We have planned to conduct Scientific Awareness Programme for School Students of Salem District. Ø We concentrate on strengthening our infrastructure and equipping our libraries with latest books, journals and magazines. Ø To have plan to get fund from Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology to support research activities Ø To conduct an Entrepreneurial Awareness Camp in collaboration with National Science and Technology centre for Entrepreneurial Development, Madurai for MBA Students. Ø To have tie up with top Industries and B-School to promote Management Studies. Ø We have plan to conduct National and international Conference Department wise. Ø We have plan to conduct awareness Programme and coaching classes for CA, ACS and ICWA Courses . Ø All the UG and PG Departments have planned to release Monthly News Magazines . Ø We have planned to conduct MAT,TANCET Coaching classes for the benefit of the Non Mathematics UG students Ø We have planned to conduct Refresher courses to the Faculty. Ø We have planned to organize Consumer Awareness Programme Ø We have a plan to provide research facilities for other college Students. Name Part – B Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution. • The courses offered by the College at the UG and PG levels are job oriented and the students are also motivated and encouraged to become entrepreneurs. • The College provides financial aid to the economically poor students and loans are also endowed to the needy students to pursue their higher studies. • Students who excel in academic and extra-curricular activities are given fee concession. • Teaching methodology is made effective by using Smart Board and LCD. • Guest lectures and interactions with the eminent personalities are arranged regularly for the self-development of the students. 2 • Dedicated and efficient faculty team is there to impart knowledge to the students. • Special coaching classes are arranged for the slow learners. • The College Placement cell arranges the campus recruitment for the final year students. • The College encourages the students to participate in all the competitions conducted by other institutions and agencies to unveil their hidden skills. • Every year our College organizes State Level and National Seminars. • Our College has MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with leading industries in and around Salem city in order to enhance the Industry Institute Partnership. • Our College has established Institutional membership with BCL, ACL, DELNET, AIMA, MMA (Salem Chapter), NIPM SPC (Salem Productivity Council) and CII(confederation of Indian Industry) • Our College NSS team actively takes part in the entire social development programme like Tree Plantation, Eye-checkup Camp, Blood Donation Camp and other socially related services. • Our College organizes several programme on Self-development, Value Education, Placement Training, Entrepreneurship awareness and Development activities through Junior Jaycee Wing of JCI Salem Steel City, Vysya College. 2. New academic programme initiated (UG and PG). M.A.English in the year 2010-11 3. Innovations in curricular design and transaction. Ø Ours is a self-financing Institution affiliated to Periyar University. So we cannot modify the courses, CBCS pattern is followed for all Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses and it includes innovative programmes like extra Disciplinary Courses, Value Based Education, Communication Skills, and Personality Development Courses which could meet the emerging global trends. Ø Our Institution collects feedback from faculty, students, alumni, industrialists and academic peers regarding the existing curriculum and the University Board Members from different departments of our college communicate the above collected feedback information to the University. Thus they help in improving the quality of the curriculum design. 4. Inter-disciplinary Programme started. Nil 5. Examination reforms implemented. Internal Evaluation Ø Every semester, our College conducts Mid-Term and Model Examinations to the students. 3 Ø The question papers are prepared by the faculty members as per the University question paper pattern. Ø The evaluation of the answer scripts are done systematically with the help of the answer key prepared by the concerned staff members. Ø The staff members point out the mistakes (grammar, points left out, irrelevant answer, and spelling) with the help of the seals provided to them. Ø Further the faculty facilitates the students to refer the correct answer in the course materials issued to them. External Evaluation Ø At the end of every semester, the University conducts examination. Ø The question paper pattern as prescribed by the University is informed to the students for their better performance. Ø The details of the students’ performance and their examination marks are intimated by post to their parents. 6. Thiru. A. Raja, M.L.A., was the Chief Guest of their function. 6 20.06.2010 – Uzhaga Tamil Chemozhi Manadu Torch Rally NSS students of our college carried the Torch from Valappady to Ayothipattanam. Mr. G. Gunasekaran, Registrar of Periyar University was the Chief Guest of the function. 15.07.2010 – RRC District Level Sport Meet - 2010 90 students were sent to Sona College, Salem to participate in the sports meet Mr. H. Santharam, District Manager, Red Ribbon Club, was the chief guest of this function. 16.07.2010 – Blood Donation Camp Our College had conducted Blood donation camp on 16.07.2010. More than 75 students donated their blood to Sri Gokulam Hospital, Salem. 23.07.2010 – Road Safety Awareness Programme Our College conducted Road Safety Programme in Ponnusamy Gounder marriage Hall, Salem with the guidance of Tmt. V. Kalaiarasi, Dist. Collector (in-charge), Salem. 28.07.2010 – Aids Awareness Programme Maa. Tamizhapparithi took part Aids Awareness programme conduct by the College management. More than 80 students were participated in their programme. 05.08.2010 – RRC District Level Cultural Our RRC Volunteer of our college participated in the RRC District Level Cultural Programme and won the prizes in many events. The Vice Chancellor of Periyar University distributed the prizes. 05.08.2010 – Good Thinking Programme Good thinking programme was conducted in the college. The principal Dr. P. Venkatesan shared his views over good thoughts.
