Only a few of the major subdivisions of the section are shown; many other combinations are possible in describing small parcels of land. Public land surveys are conducted by the Bureau of Land Management, a federal agency, which is responsible for surveying and maintaining our public domain. The State of Nevada has been surveyed and subdivided in this manner and records are available for examination at the offices of the Bureau of Land Management, Reno, Nevada.
