MSI Reproductive Choices UK is a country programme within MSI Reproductive Choices. Our mission is to ensure the individual's fundamental right to have children by choice not chance. The objectives and measurements that support this mission are: Objectives • To provide high quality, affordable, professional, patient-oriented services. • To continuously strive to improve the quality of our services. • To maximise the added benefits and value offered to our patients. • To differentiate MSI Reproductive Choices UK services from those of our competitors. • To listen to our stakeholders and be responsive to their comments. Before coming to MSI Reproductive Choices he was CEO of SuperMax, a personal care product marketing organisation based in the Middle East. He has also held senior leadership positions at both Procter and Gamble and Reckitt Benckiser. Simon is committed to bringing his expertise and experience to fulfil our mission of children by choice, not chance. Mr Richard Bentley: Managing Director MSI Reproductive Choices UK Richard joined MSI Reproductive Choices UK in September 2017. He has extensive senior level experience within leading people-centric and service-oriented businesses in healthcare.     Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group Putnoe Walk-in Centre case for change and consultation Transforming Urgent and Emergency Care in Bedfordshire Consultation runs from 10 July to 19 August 2018 Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG) is the NHS organisation that works locally to plan and buy all NHS-funded healthcare for the 450,000 people who live in Bedfordshire. This includes everything from primary care to hospital services, community health services and mental health services. BCCG is an organisation run by clinicians including local GPs, nurses and hospital doctors. Bedfordshire’s 50 GP practices are members of the CCG and together, we agree how to spend the £570m budget that we’re allocated, on healthcare services for the communities we serve in Bedfordshire. What is this document about? Following a new policy from NHS England, we are reviewing the way that urgent care services are delivered in Bedfordshire. Urgent Care is when you need medical assistance in a hurry and cannot wait for a routine appointment, but it is not an emergency. This document is designed to inform residents about proposed changes to Urgent and Emergency Care in Bedfordshire and encourage discussion. This will form part of a period of consultation, which will inform decisions on the future of Urgent and Emergency Care in Bedfordshire.     The History Of Putnoe Wood and Mowsbury Hillfort Putnoe Wood On the edge of the Ravensdon parish, Putnoe Wood is a Local Nature Reserve. Ravensden Brook runs through the valley and is an important wildlife corridor. Animals move from one part of the countryside to another along the brook, and the larger trees, grasses and scrub provide places to nest, food for birds and a home to many insects. Putnoe wood has a long history and was once part of a much larger wooded landscape. The area was first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086 as Salf End and Buckelowe (Putnoe) with the tenant in chief be- ing named as Hugh of Beauchamp. Before this date there is evidence that a Saxon named Putta had settled here and then later in 1066 being the property of Anschil or Asketill a name of Scandinavian origin. During the 12th century Putnoe Manor and its lands was endowed to the Cistercian Abbey of Warden and remained in the possession of the monastery until the dissolution in 1537. In 1224, Considerable damage was done to Putnoe Wood during the nine weeks siege of Bedford Castle. The Royal forces of Henry III using the wood as a convenient source of timber. Warden Abbey demanded and received annual compensation for their ravaged woodland during the remainder of the King's life- time. This was renewed in 1304 for a further 20 years. A full century was needed for the complete recov- ery of the wood. The estate passed to the Gostwick family of Willington in 1539 and they retained it for two hundred years.

    BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE A 20MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE ON VARIOUS ROADS WITHIN DE PARYS WARD Reason for the proposal: As part of the Borough-wide initiative to introduce lower speed limits in and around residential areas of Bedford, and at the request of the elected Ward Councillor’s, Bedford Borough Council proposes to introduce a 20mph speed limit on various roads within Bedford, as detailed below. The proposed Order is considered necessary on the grounds of promoting road safety, particularly in the vicinity of a school. Effect of the Order: 1. The Bedford Council has previously undertaken the earlier rounds of review and assessment (R&A) of local air quality management and identified areas where the objectives are exceeded and where there is relevant public exposure. As a consequence, it has designated Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs) for the annual mean nitrogen dioxide objective and sulphur dioxide objectives in the Borough. This report concerns the third round Updating and Screening Assessment. Local authorities are required to review and assess air quality against the objectives in the Air Quality Regulations 2000 and the amendment regulations as part of a rolling three-year cycle ending in 2010. The air quality objectives to be assessed are for the following seven pollutants: carbon monoxide, benzene, 1,3- butadiene, lead, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and particles (PM10). This report provides a new assessment to identify those matters that have changed since the last review and assessment, and which might lead to a risk of the objective being exceeded.

    Council Update August 2018 Putnoe Walk In Centre to Close The Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG), the body which organises NHS services locally, has announced its intention to close the Putnoe Walk In Centre from Spring 2019. This is part of plans to open a new Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) on the Bedford Hospital site. The UTC will provide same-day appointments for minor illnesses over a 12 hour period, 7 days a week via referrals from A & E and the 111 phone service. The BCCG says the rationale of the UTC is to reduce pressure on the Hospital’s A & E function and allow clinicians to access diagnostic services (such as X-rays) if necessary. The BCCG has held a consultation on these plans which ended on the 19th August. East West Rail Plans have been submitted by Network Rail to the Secretary of State for Transport to begin works as early as 2019 on the western section of the East – West Rail link. East West Rail will see the development of a new train line between Oxford and Bedford (western section). It is then planned to open a line from Bedford to Cambridge (central section) by the mid-2020s, with the scope in the future for it to extend further into the east of England. Trains running from Oxford to Bedford will stop at: Oxford Parkway; Bicester; Winslow; Bletchley; Woburn Sands, and; Ridgmont. Visit www.eastwestrail.org.uk for more details.
