Public Session: Ethany Uttech is announcing a funding opportunity for the Lower East Side health projects. Work for Ioby (in our back yards) a public interest organization to make communities strong. Utilizing crowdfunding and individualized coaching to multiply profits. The healthy neighborhood challenge is a match grant funding opportunity for any project that is helping the Two Bridges area. No deadline, distribute funding for anyone who does projects with them. Up to $10,000. 501 c3 or fiscal conduit, IOBY can be fiscal conduit as well. Wendy Li would lie more translators for judicial court system. Delancey and Orchard street is where her office is located. Is in favor of Judicial reform that will lead to easier access to the court house. There is often not enough dialect translators to capture the represented population. Is suggesting court room appearances for clients after 6pm so working class people can still attend to their legal matters. Gaby Hoffmann is against the 84 Second Ave (LPC) agenda item on behalf of the 5th street Block Association. Looks forward to a front façade renovation but not a rear yard renovation. There is serious concerns for the building's infrastructure to handle the demolition of additional alterations in the green space. David Mulkins is against the 84 Second Ave citing concerns for available green space and the environmental impacts including noise pollution. Richard Duane is a member of 5th street block association is against the 84 Second Avenue agenda item. Would like for the Board to deny the rear yard additions for the concerns of the community residents. Carol Putre is a resident of the Lower East Side and is against the rear yard alterations. Michele Burger is promoting Let's Talk Democracy, an organization promoting civic issues. She is announcing a Civic Education classes at Tompkins Square Library. Local elected officials are in support and active in these classes. Kate Puls is supporting the resolution of the SLA committee to deny 19 Classic Ham Barber Lounge. Laura Sewell is the executive director of the EVCC and is thanking the Landmarks Committee for testifying at LPC regarding 119-121 Second Ave. Harry Bubbins representing the GVSHP organization provided an update on the ULURP process for the Tech Hub. Update on CHARAS P.S 64, there was a rally held on 9th street where Gale Brewer, Carlina Rivera were present. Eric Vath on behalf of the Goldman Harris LLC is in support of the 9 Orchard application. Jeffry Solomon a resident of the Lower East Side and is in great support of the Boys Club on 10th street Avenue A. Is advocating for the keeping of the Boys Club. Debra Glass is in support for an action to continue to fight for Rivington Street on August 8th from 4pm-7pm. This will be an action to demonstrate the need for Rivington House and all vulnerable neighbors. Eric Diaz, Executive Director of Vision Urbana provided information on Vision Urbana programming. Public Officials: Mayor Bill de Blasio, Gabrielle Dann-Allel: Not Present Public Advocate Letitia James, Adam Chen: Not Present Comptroller Scott Stringer, Michael Stinson: Not Present 1 Borough President Gale Brewer, Afraz Khan: Is fighting for the Two Bridges protection from overdevelopment and is actively overseeing the ULURP process. The L train shutdown recommendations are being received and reviewed to provide a plan of action- this will take place in August. August 8th, a senior event and the Dominican Day Parade. Fresh Food campaign is currently on to receive fresh food for discounted pricing. Question regarding the timeline for the response of the text amendment was confirmed to be completed before October. Question regarding stronger conversations regarding IDNYC protection against Immigrant populations. Congressmember Nydia Velazquez, Iris Quinones: Not Present Congressmember Carolyn Maloney, Victor Montesinos: Has taken a stand against the immigration policies currently taking place at the border. Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou, Monica Sanchez: 64 Fulton Street 3rd floor is the location of the open house on August 15th 5pm-8pm. 85 Bowery settlement will be returning home by August 30th. Two Bridges rally to support regulation of the overdevelopment at Two Bridges. A stronger youth center for homeless and also the LGBT community was suggested to the Yuh-line rep. Assemblymember Deborah J. Glick, Charlie Anderson: Is continuing to promote speed cameras around school zones and fighting for legislation to advocate for this and other community danger mitigation. Assemblymember Harvey Epstein, Mike Schweinsburg: Harvey met with the executive director at Boys Club to save Boys Club in the community. Harvey helped coordinate the CHARAS rally and the Tompkins square clean up. Also provided board report copies for distribution. Legislation is being introduced July 25th signed by Harey Epstein and another NY Senator to support New York immigration rights and tracking for families affected at the border who migrated to New York. August 1st is alzheimers event for seniors. Supports the New Sanctuary Coalition to support training on immigration court to all residents on August 8th at east end temple located on 17th street. State Senator Brian Kavanagh, Venus Galarza-Mullins: Not Present State Senator Brad M. Hoylman, Caroline Wekselbaum: Helped residents freeze their rents and provided free eye exams and other health services. Is in support of the CHARAS rally and expresses his support. Is against the Supreme Court nomination of Donald Trump. Senator Hoylman Is a prime co-sponsor of GENDA for LGBT rights and maternity rights. Councilmember Margaret Chin, Marian Guerra: Passed legislation that will require annual health inspections for all senior centers that serve food. Results will be posted online expanding access to seniors and informing families. Reinstate two way tolling for the Verrazano Bridge to help mitigate the traffic from Lower Manhattan. Led the rally at Two Bridge for a fuller input at the Environmental impact study for the text amendment. 221 helmets were given out. Annual Community Day August 4th at 9:45am at Governor Island. Councilmember Carlina Rivera, Sheila Rodriguez: Intro 981 was passed unanimously, a bill introduced by Carlina Rivera to stop landlords from transforming their buildings to hotels and other rental spaces that cut through the affordable housing available in the community. Participatory budget will begin in the Fall for Community Board 2. John Blasco will be lead for this budget hearing. Carlina is hosting a family day festival August 3rd, 12pm-3pm. Mobile district houses at Jacob Riis, Lillian Wald on July 27thand the Kips Bay area. Free bike helmet fitting on September 8th at 12pm-3pm at Baruch Playground. Taskforce for the Bathhouse at Baruch houses is being called to formation. Expected first meeting will be in early October. Chair is making changes to the sub committees. Suspension of the Public Housing subcommittee is in effect. The Arts subcommittee will be meeting with the parks dept committee meetings. Is requesting additional members for the Arts subcommittee. District Manager's Report: District Manager Susan Stetzer The new Assistant District Manager, Jim Shelton, was introduced. The CB 3 public hearing for Two Bridges Minor Modification will be August 14 and IS 131. In September the Manhattan community boards will attend budget consultations with agencies. There will be a public hearing to hear from the community regarding budget needs September 27. In October the committees and full board will vote on budget priorities for CB 3. The District Manager announced that she has been appointed to the Nightlife Advisory Board. There has been a decrease in noise complaints over last fiscal year in CB 3.     Dean *Anthony Vidler to receive ACSA Centennial Award The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) announced today that Anthony Vidler will receive a special Centennial Award at next week’s 100th ACSA Annual Meeting in Boston. Anthony Vidler is Dean and Professor at the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union, where he has served since 2001. The Centennial Award was created by the ACSA Board of Directors in recognition of Dean Vidler’s wide ranging contributions to architectural education. Says Judith Kinnard, FAIA, ACSA president: “Anthony Vidler’s teaching and scholarship have had a major impact on architectural education. We invited him to receive this special award during our 100th anniversary and give the keynote lecture because of his extraordinary ability to link current issues in architecture and urbanism to a broad historic trajectory. His work forces us to question our assumptions as we engage contemporary conditions as designers.” Anthony Vidler received his professional degree in architecture from Cambridge University in England, and his doctorate in History and Theory from the University of Technology, Delft, the Netherlands. Dean Vidler was a member of the Princeton University School of Architecture faculty from 1965 to 1993, serving as the William R. Kenan Jr. Chair of Architecture, the Chair of the Ph.D. Committee, and Director of the Program in European Cultural Studies. In 1993 he took up a position as professor and Chair of the Department of Art History at the University of California, Los Angeles, with a joint appointment in the School of Architecture from 1997.

But at its core, "All I Wanna Do" is also the story of young women who recognize their own value and potential when their all- female sanctuary becomes threatened by the specter of men. The film was written and directed by Sarah Kernochan, an established screenwriter making her feature directorial debut. For Odie (Gaby Hoffmann), a pretty but moody teenager, being sent to Miss Godard's Prep School for Girls midway through the year is a little bit like being sent to prison. Miss Godard's has all kinds of rules, and a lot is expected of the girls there. But Odie soon discovers that the girls at Miss Godard's also have a lot of fun, and most important, the school is something of a haven where girls can behave, well, just like girls since there are no boys in sight. After a tour of the campus guided by Abby (Rachael Leigh Cook), an uptight, brown- nosing "monitor" on the Self-Government Committee, Odie just wants to cry. But things start looking up when Odie meets her new roommates, Verena (Kirsten Dunst) and Tinka (Monica Keena). Verena is a schemer who likes to break the rules.
