This Guide lists local organisations providing learning activities and some FREE learning opportunities. § Do you need help with Learning English or improving reading, writing or numbers…? See pages 3, 7 and 12 . § Does someone you know need or want help or encouragement to sign up? The A-Z of Local Learning Opportunities includes a wide range of organisations that offer courses and classes. Not all are free; but many organisations do offer free Tasters for the learning festivals and during the year. th Be part of the 20 Adult Learners' Week: Saturday 14 - Friday 20 May 2011 . You are invited! Adult Learners' Week is the UK's largest festival of learning. Held each May, it encourages thousands of adults, whatever their age or background, to give learning a go. § Three Rivers Learning Partnership with its Partners offers you FREE tasters of learning to celebrate the Adult Learners' Week Festival. § Most tasters need to be booked but some are just turn up. § All activities are FREE and provide a great opportunity to try something new. § We do hope that you get along to some of the Tasters, but if you do miss something that you are interested in, do contact the provider as they probably have something similar on offer – just not necessarily free. § We hope that you enjoy learning in Three Rivers. Languages: In Three Rivers there are many free learning o English/ESOL: ASCEND, West Herts College opportunities, but where there are charges there o British Sign Language: Parmiter’s School, may be discounts, so please ask. West Herts College o French: ASCEND, U3A Chorleywood, U3A Croxley Also check if you are eligible to study for free: Green, U3A Rickmansworth, U3A Sarratt Free tuition for Level 2 courses: If you are o German: U3A Chorleywood, over 19 years & do not have a full Level 2 U3A Rickmansworth (Conversation) qualification (i.e. 5 GCSEs grades A to C or o Latin: U3A Chorleywood equivalent) then you could be eligible for free o Italian: U3A Rickmansworth (Conversation), tuition. U3A Sarratt Free tuition for Level 3 courses: If you are o Spanish: Parmiter’s School (Beginners), over 19 & under 25 years, without previous U3A Sarratt Level 3 qualifications (i.e. 2 A Levels or equivalent) then these courses are available to Music: you for free with government support. o St Joan of Arc School To receive free tuition you must meet criteria o West Herts College as set out by both the Government & course o U3A Chorleywood provider.
