Our editors and writers take great pride in the quality of our work and create original, accurate, expert content that is free of ethical concerns, conflicts, or misinformation. We share everything you need to know today, while making sure our library is kept accurate. If you see something that doesn’t seem up to date, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected]. As is common in the media industry, Brides editors and writers are sometimes provided with complimentary products or visits to properties for review purposes. While it does not influence our coverage, Brides believes in full disclosure of all potential conflicts of interest. This disclosure is present in any articles where applicable. Our product reviews are independent and based on research and product testing. If you visit links within our content, we may receive commissions from your purchases, but we never receive any compensation or consideration for the content of our recommendations. Fact Checking. Our writers confirm all information and data gathered for all articles, including news. We consult relevant, diverse, qualified sources to ensure we’re providing proper context and background to the reader. Each news article is thoroughly reviewed by a staff editor and fact checked by staff. Articles are rigorously evaluated for accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. If you have noticed an issue you would like to bring to our attention, please let us know by emailing [email protected]. Corrections. Our editorial teams are committed to telling readers whenever a factual error has been made on a news story at the time of publication. We will correct the error as quickly as possible and alert readers to the correction. All corrections will be clearly labeled as such, and will include what was changed and when. When an article is factually correct, but the language is not as clear or detailed as necessary, the story may be updated without an editor’s note. News articles often cover a distinct event in time, so they are not routinely updated. Our editorial teams are continually evaluating and updating evergreen articles to ensure they are timely, accurate, and relevant. Each article is date-stamped to reflect when they were last updated. If you would like to report an error, you can do so by emailing [email protected]. Sourcing. Our writers and editors adhere to strict standards for article sourcing. We rely on current and reputable primary sources, such as expert interviews, government organizations, and professional and academic institutions. All data points, facts, and claims are backed up by at least one reputable source. We strongly discourage the use of anonymous or unnamed sourcing, as this can erode transparency and reader trust. In the rare instance where an unnamed source is used, we will disclose to readers the reason behind the anonymity and provide necessary context. A cornerstone of our reporting and sourcing is to consider often overlooked perspectives from diverse communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+. Our content strives to serve all communities. Miss Eva Black runs a school for courtesans trying to retire from their previous occupation. Dressed as a grim spinster, she teaches her students how to behave as proper wives as well as finding them proper husbands. Besides concealing her beauty, she hides the fact that her mother was a courtesan; something that always embarrassed Eva. Fuming aristocrat Nicholas Drake arrives at Eva’s school demanding she return to him his favorite mistress Arabella that she stole from him or he will use his ducal affluence to destroy her and her school. Eva detests the arrogant lord for his highhanded ways, but is also attracted to him. She accepts his demand that she replace his former mistress, married with a child on the way, as he holds her debts. Nicholas assumed he would scare the stern spinster while breaking her, but Eva teaches him to never judge a book by its cover. The School for Brides is a warm gender war historical romance as the spinster and the aristocrat battle for supremacy. Like the heroine, readers will be affronted by Nicholas’ attitude towards women, but she proves a worthy mentor-teacher. Although the background never full anchors the era, fans will cheer on the courtesan’s daughter as she challenges the arrogant duke on his turf. This Kindergarten Teacher Did A Wedding 'First Look' With Her Students. Teacher and bride-to-be Kelsey Smith did a “first look” with her kindergarten class so they could see her in her wedding dress. And the pictures from the shoot are cute as can be. “My students mean the world to me and I was so excited for them to see me in my dress before anyone [else],” Smith, who teaches at Hugh Goodwin Elementary in El Dorado, Arkansas, told HuffPost. Photographer A ngi Gibbons of Flying Pig Photography captured the sweet moment in March, less than two weeks before schools were closed due to COVID-19. Gibbons recently shared some of the images on her Facebook page, where they racked up tens of thousands of likes and were later shared by the Love What Matters Facebook page. When the kids walked into the classroom and saw Miss Smith in her veil and lace gown, they “went silent,” she said. “They didn’t know what to do or say, but they were so excited,” Smith recalled. “They loved seeing me in a different light and I am so thankful.” After the reveal, the students surprised Smith with a bridal shower that Smith’s mom, a substitute teacher at the school, helped organize. The class gifted her a dress signed with their names that they decorated with butterfly and flower designs. Smith married her husband, John, on May 30. The couple had to make some adjustments to their wedding plans in accordance with CDC guidelines, she said. At the wedding, she displayed the dress her class had made for her and hung up a banner with one of the photos from the shoot. “I know it was meant to be for all of these kiddos to share in the wedding of their teacher, even if it wasn’t possible for everyone to come to the ceremony,” Gibbons wrote on Facebook.
