[email protected] www.amnh.org January 2013 ATTENTION: LISTINGS EDITORS AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY KICKS OFF NEW SEASON OF ONE STEP BEYOND ON FEBRUARY 15 WITH DJ SETS BY FOSTER THE PEOPLE, JAVELIN, AND DOPESHOES VISITORS PARTY TO THE SOUNDS AND VISUALS OF WORLD-CLASS PERFORMERS IN THE ROSE CENTER FOR EARTH AND SPACE The American Museum of Natural History’s One Step Beyond party series kicks off its sixth season with DJ sets by Foster the People, Javelin, and Dopeshoes in the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe on Friday, February 15. During this ongoing party series, guests can dance in the Museum’s Rose Center for Earth and Space to the sounds of the biggest names in techno, electronica, hip-hop, and indie rock. Guests can also enjoy the Hayden Big Bang Theater, located in the lower part of the Hayden Sphere, which features a dynamic multi-media presentation, narrated by acclaimed actor Liam Neeson, that takes visitors on a thrilling four-minute trip from Earth to the edge of the visible universe. Each ticket also includes one pass to the Museum for future use. Visuals for One Step Beyond are produced by Glowing Pictures. WHEN: February 15, 2013, 9 pm–1 am WHO: Foster the People, headliner (DJ set) Foster the People was founded by Mark Foster in Los Angeles, California, in 2009. After releasing their debut album Torches in May 2011, Foster’s breakthrough song “Pumped Up Kicks” became a crossover hit on commercial radio.
