Ref: Letter in R.O.C.No.300/2019/JA, dated 22.08.2019 of the Director, Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, Chennai. The Director, Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, Chennai, in the letter under reference cited above, has stated that as per the approval of the Hon'ble Governing Body of Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, Orientation Training Programme for newly promoted Senior Civil Judges, is scheduled to be held on 21.09.2019 and 22.09.2019 at Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy, Headquarters, Chennai. He has requested that the Judicial Officers in the cadre of Senior Civil Judge, may be nominated, to participate in the aforesaid Training Programme. The aforesaid nominated Judicial Officers shall instruct their supporting staff (including 0As, Drivers and P.S.0s.) that food and refreshments shall be arranged by them on their own. The aforesaid nominated Judicial Officers are required to hand over charge of their respective posts, to any of the nearest Senior Civil Judges, if required, before proceeding

Al‑Ghanim2, Fahad Al‑Misned2, Zubair Ahmed2, Kaliyamoorthy Krishnappa1, Kuppusamy Elumalai3 & Marimuthu Govindarajan4,5* The study is intended to deliver the incidence of heavy metals in the feathers of shorebirds from two important Central Asian Flyway (CAF) migratory shorebirds wintering sites such as the Point Calimere Wildlife Sanctuary (PWLS) and Pichavaram Mangrove Forest (PMF), India. Feathers of ffteen species of shorebirds and seven diferent metals viz., Cu, Cr, Co, Pb, Hg, Ni and Zn were analyzed. Zn was highest in Dunlin, Little‑ringed Plover, Marsh Sandpiper, and Common sandpiper, Ni showed highest in Little ringed plover, and Common sandpiper, Co, Cr, and Cu were maximum in Little stint, Marsh sandpiper, and Dunlin, respectively. The Hg was higher in Black‑winged stilt, Common redshank, Curlew Sandpiper, Eurasian curlew, Lesser Sand‑plover, Temminck’s stint, Kentish plover, Spotted redshank, and Wood sandpiper, the Pb found highest in Kentish plover, Painted stork, Spotted redshank, Wood sandpiper, Eurasian Curlew, and Lesser sand‑plover. The concentration of metals showed signifcant variations among the species of shorebirds studied (P < 0.001). The mercury negatively correlated with the other metals than the other six metals studied in both the wetlands. The order of metal concentration in the feathers of shorebirds was Zn > Ni > Co > Cr > Cu > Pb > Hg. Nevertheless, the current study revealed that the level of metals in the shorebirds is alarming; since the PWLS and PMF are located along the CAF routes, it needs intensive studies on various pollutions to manage both the resident as well as migratory shorebirds.

    Survey on Reading Habit of School Children in Northern and Eastern Provinces 2016 National Library and Documentation Services Board Ministry of Education Preface As the main Professional Organisation in library field conducting research and survey in library and information field is a responsibility assigned to the National Library and Documentation Services Board (NLDSB). To fulfil this responsibility, NLDSB conducts research and surveys on different areas of library and information science. This study on reading habit of school children in Northern and Eastern provinces is one of such projects conducted by the National Library and Documentation Services Board. Through this study NLDSB expects to understand the situation of reading habit of school children in Northern and Eastern Provinces and also to recommend and implement remedial measures for the problems prevail in these provinces. Reading society is a very important indicator of the educational, cultural and social development in a country. Therefore, reading promotion is very important in creating a knowledge society. National Library and Documentation Services Board presently implements a number of reading promotion programmes. The main programme is the National Reading month programmes which is implemented in October every year. This study is very important because a research of this nature has not been conducted in Northern and Eastern provinces in recent past.

Rapid population growth, unsustainable industrial activities together with immense human interference with the natural resources, has led to present water-crisis. There is confrontation among nations, states and societies due to the gap between demand and supply. Water pollution and poor water management strategies have brought us to the brink of water shortage. Access to clean water and adequate sanitation is at present, a global problem. According to UNICEF and the World Health Organization, report in 2019 around 2.2 billion people around the world lack safely managed drinking water services and 4.2 billion people do not have safely managed sanitation services. Intensive water use in agriculture, non-eco-friendly manufacturing process and poor land use practices across the globe are withdrawing or contaminating groundwater at an alarming rate.
