The 50 year odyssey from the founding of AccuWeather until today’s hearing is a study in the evolution; and a story whose pages continue to be written daily. ---------------------------------------------------------- On average, the United States experiences 100,000 thunderstorms annually, resulting in more than 1,200 tornadoes. The tornado is the most violent storm on Earth. The United States has more tornados than any nation; in fact, we have four times the number in all of Europe. We also report more violent EF4 and EF5 tornadoes than anywhere else. When hit by a powerful tornado, often entire buildings are destroyed . sometimes literally wiped off the face of the earth. We saw the devastating and heart sickening results again in 2013. The Magic of Weather Forecasting. But the T Iranian nuclear program will require a response.* With the Iranian parliament having adopted legislation mandating uranium enrichment to 20 percent and suspension of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections if sanctions are not lifted by February 2020 in response to the targeted killing of Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh— and with Iran now having accumulated twelve times the low-enriched uranium permitted under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action—the administration will have to deal with the Iranian challenge.1 To be sure, the nuclear program and its potential to make Iran a nuclear weapons state are not the only challenges the Islamic Republic poses: the regime’s ballistic missile program and destabilizing and aggressive behavior in the region threaten conflicts that can escalate both vertically and horizontally.     The Perfect Storm By Mary Fanning and Alan Jones 14 November 2017 1 INTRODUCTION The next time you watch a freight train pass by a railroad crossing, or hear the evocative sounds of the mournful horns of trains passing in the night or railroad crossing warning bells as flatbed rail cars double- stacked with cargo containers roll by, or see a flatbed semi-truck hauling a cargo container down the highway, keep in mind that President Barack Hussein Obama and his administration awarded Saddam Hussein’s rogue nuclear mastermind access to Florida’s Port Canaveral cargo container terminal, a U.S. port of entry that gives Russia and states of its choice unfettered access to the entire United States. This paper will explore how several seemingly disparate factors have joined together in a confluence of acute danger, creating a perfect storm that directly threatens United States (U.S.) national security. In July of 1863, the 54th Regiment and Carney charged Fort Wagner in South Carolina. During the charge, the flag bearer was shot and killed so Carney grabbed the flag before it touched the ground and place it on the wall of the fort while Union troops attacked. Receiving wounds to the face, shoulders, arms, and legs, Carney felt like he was doing his duty and kept the flag from touching the ground as his troops retreated under heavy gunfire.

Private weather companies are complaining that they are being hurt by NWS decisions to value-add taxpayer funded weather data and distribute it to the public. This may be the case, but also they must realize that the private weather industry is receiving a massive government subsidy in the form of weather data, computer models, etc. It is provided to them way below what it cost the government to produce it. I know of a 24 hour 'all weather' cable network here in Atlanta that frequently use NWS model data from the public internet instead of the value added data from a private weather company. Whose fault is that? Here's a proposal... Let the private weather companies be responsible for the nearly $800 million budget of the NWS minus any budget items diectly related to public warnings, etc. Then, the private weather companies would own the data enabling them to do whatever they want to with the data! 2 Please do not restrict any offerings. We're paying taxes, we deserve all results. Thank you. 3 How can the direct distribution of weather to the american people not be part of your mandate? How can I as a tax payer understand paying for your existance, only to have you turn around and give it away to someone who wants to charge me for the same information I already paid for? Recipients must have distinguished themselves at the risk of their own life above and beyond the call of duty in action against an enemy of the United States. Because of the nature of this medal, it is commonly presented posthumously.[1] Of the 3,464 Medals of Honor awarded as of June 2009, 88 have been awarded to 87 different African American recipients.[2] Robert Augustus Sweeney is one of nineteen men, and the only African American, to have been awarded two Medals of Honor.[3] A 1993 study commissioned by the Army investigated racial discrimination in the awarding of medals.[4] At the time, no Medals of Honor had been awarded to black soldiers who served in World War II. After an exhaustive review of files, the study recommended that several black Distinguished Service Cross recipients be upgraded to the Medal of Honor. On January 13, 1997, President Bill Clinton awarded the Medal to seven African American World War II veterans; of these, only Vernon Baker was still alive.[4] Civil War Twenty-five African Americans earned the Medal of Honor during the American Civil War, including seven sailors of the Union Navy, fifteen soldiers of the United States Colored Troops, and three soldiers of other Army units.[2] Fourteen African American men earned the Medal for actions in the Battle of Chaffin's Farm, where a division of U.S.

    1 African American soldiers at the Battle of Fort Wagner, 1863 Introduction On July 18, 1863, on Morris Island near Charleston, South Carolina, the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, a Union regiment of free African American men, began their assault on Fort Wagner, a Confederate stronghold. After the Civil War, a sergeant of the 54th, William Harvey Carney, became the first African American to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for taking up the fallen Union flag and carrying it to the fort’s walls. Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, the commander of the regiment, was killed in the charge, along with 116 of his men, and the Union forces failed to capture the fort. Shaw, an abolitionist born to a prominent Boston family, had been recruited by Massachusetts governor John Andrew to raise and command the all-black regiment, the first regiment of African Americans recruited in the North. Shortly after the battle, the printing firm of Currier and Ives commemorated the 54th’s charge, portraying black soldiers carrying the Union flag over the fort’s ramparts and into the Confederate phalanx.
