Dear media representatives

Cyclo-cross fever is about to sweep over Switzerland. Some of you will surely remember the crowds along the course during the last World Championships organised in Switzerland. These were held in Eschenbach in the canton of St. Gallen in 1995. That particular year also saw the last elite world title to be won by a Swiss racer, Dieter Runkel. Since then, cyclo-cross in Switzerland has been through a difficult period, far away from the golden years when Albert Zweifel was busy collecting world titles (5 times world champion between 1976 and 1986). We are delighted to be able to reconnect with this traditional sport and to offer a platform for all racers. In particular for the U19 Women, who are competing in a separate category for the first time in the history of the World Championships. We would also like to thank our partners, without whom this event would not have been possible. We look forward to sharing this grand cyclo-cross celebration with you and would like to thank you in advance for your articles and reports.
