Villar RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE PHILIPPINE DELEGATION TO THE 28TH SOUTH EAST ASIAN GAMES 2015 FOR THEIR INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTION TO PHILIPPINE SPORTS AND FOR BRINGING HONOR AND PRIDE TO THE COUNTRY THROUGH SPECTACULAR EXHIBITION OF SKILL AND ATHLETICISM WHEREAS, it is the policy of the State to give priority to education, science and technology, arts, culture, and sports to foster patriotism and nationalism, accelerate 1 social progress, and promote total human liberation and development ; WHEREAS, the 28th South East Asian (SEA) Games was held last May 29 to June 16, 2015, where more than four thousand (4,000) athletes from eleven (11) nations2 competed, four hundred sixty-six (466) of which came from the Philippines; WHEREAS, with dedication, the Philippine delegation not only claimed recognition for the country during 28th SEA Games but also won and brought home twenty-nine (29) gold medals, thirty-six silver (36) medals, and sixty-six (66) bronze medals or a total of one hundred thirty-one (131) medals; WHEREAS, the following athletes deserve special recognition and commendation for their hard work and perseverance and for winning the medals in their respective events: Gold Athlete Eventls Men's 100m; Eric Shauwn Cray Men's 400 Hurdles Christopher Ulboc, Jr. Athletics Men's 3000m Steeplechase Caleb John Christian Stuart Men's Hammer Throw Kayla Anise Richardson Women's 100m Kiefer Ravena Jeth Troy Rosario Earl Scottie Thompson Baser Amer Glenn Khobuntin Norberto Brian Torres Basketball Men's Basketball Marcus Eugene Douthit Rey Mark Belo Jiovani Jalalon Kevin Ferrer Rashleigh-Paolo Rivero Carlo Biado Billiards & Men's 9-Ball Pool Doubles Warren Kiamco Snooker 1 Article II, Section 17, 1987 Philippine Constitution. 2 The competing nations include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
