LOS ANGELES NATIVE & RECORDING ARTIST JAY ROCK TO PERFORM AT RAMS HOME OPENER Los Angeles Rams to Host Arizona Cardinals Sunday, September 16 at 1:05 PM PT Visit TheRams.com/Tickets For Ticket Information To welcome fans back to the Coliseum for the 2018 season, the Los Angeles Rams will feature entertainers with local ties and will honor some of the team’s Hall of Fame Legends. The Rams host the division-rival Arizona Cardinals for the home opener on Sunday, September 16 at 1:05 PM. The game will be broadcast nationally on FOX, as well as on radio in English on ESPN LA 710 AM and 93.1 Jack FM, and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes 1330 AM. Fans should be in their seats by 12:35 PM for a special pregame performance, team introductions, the National Anthem, the coin toss and the lighting of the Coliseum Torch. Top Dawg Entertainment recording artist and LA Native JAY ROCK will help kick off the Rams regular season home opener with a pregame performance live on the field. Hailing from Watts in Los Angeles, California, Jay Rock released his second studio album, ‘Redemption,’ in June of 2018 and features the single “WIN,” featuring Kendrick Lamar and the current single “Tap Out,” featuring Jeremih. He’s also featured on the two-time Platinum ‘Black Panther: The Album,” on the lead single “Kings Dead,” which features Kendrick Lamar and Future. In 2012, Jay Rock collaborated with Kendrick Lamar on his album “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” on the song “Money Trees” leading him to a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year as a featured artist. Jay Rock is set to embark on his headlining ‘The Big Redemption’ Tour which kicks off September 18th. Following the on-field pregame performance, singer-songwriter TINASHE will perform the National Anthem. The Multi-Platinum recording artist broke into the R&B/Pop spotlight in 2014 with her double-Platinum hit, “2 On,” which landed in the Top 20 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. She has toured the world with Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Maroon 5. Tinashe also has an established career in fashion, where she has worked with brands such as Alexander Wang, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Juicy Couture. She recently released her sophomore album “Joyride”, and will be a contestant on this upcoming season’s hit show ‘Dancing With The Stars’. The U.S. Army – Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion will present the colors. The Tiger Squadron will partake in a flyover following the National Anthem. For the third consecutive year, the Rams will honor Hall of Famers at their regular season home opener. Legends ERIC DICKERSON, ORLANDO PACE, JACKIE SLATER & JACK YOUNGBLOOD will light the Coliseum Torch prior to kickoff. At halftime, all four Hall of Famers will be on-field to support the youth football programs scrimmaging during halftime. Below are some additional features in this week’s game. For more information about the Rams gameday experience, please visit therams.com/gameday or the Rams Mobile App. COMEDIAN CHEECH MARIN & ACTOR DANNY TREJO TO JOIN RAMS CAPTAINS FOR COIN TOSS Comedian CHEECH MARIN and Actor DANNY TREJO will join the Rams captains at midfield to participate in the game’s opening coin toss. Marin and Trejo will be joined by cancer survivor & Cedars-Sinai employee BIN MCLAURIN. Born in Los Angeles, Cheech Marin found his calling with the comedy duo Cheech and Chong, which became a series of highly successful comedy albums in the late 1970s. Marin has since enjoyed more success in television and movies such as Born in East L.A. (1987), Tin Cup (1996), Up in Spoke (1978) and Lion King (1994). Danny Trejo, who hails from the Echo Park region of Los Angeles, has had a prolific career in the entertainment industry starring in dozens of films including: Desperado (1995), Heat (1995), Dead in Tombstone (2013) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014). Trejo has also appeared in recent television works such as Sons of Anarchy (2008-2014) and King of the Hill (1997-2010). Most recently, he united with Robert Rodriguez for season two of El Rey’s TV series From Dusk Till Dawn (2014-present). With September marking National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, the Rams will honor Bin McLaurin, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014 and received his treatment at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. In April of 2018, McLaurin was announced cancer-free. He currently serves as an advocate for men’s health and prostate cancer awareness and was recently the recipient of a commendation from a California Senator for his advocacy efforts. RAMS TO SALUTE 23-YEAR MARINE CORP VETERAN During the first quarter of Sunday’s game, the Rams will recognize BRICE BARTLETTE, a 23- year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Joining the Marine Corps as an Infantryman in 1993, Bartlette was deployed in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also served as a Detachment Commander for the Marine Security Guard at U.S. Embassies in Saudi Arabia and Lithuania. As a result of his service, Bartlette was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon. He is currently attending the University of Southern California Los Angeles (UCLA) pursuing his degree in Political Science. The Rams and American Airlines are honoring a service member at every home game this season. Photos are displayed on the Coliseum video boards and their dedication to service is shared with fans over the public-address system. FOUR LA REGION YOUTH FOOTBALL PROGRAMS TO SCRIMMAGE AT HALFTIME The Camarillo Road Runners will scrimmage the Calabasas Wolfpack in the northwest end zone and the Thousand Oaks Titans will scrimmage the Moorpark Musketeers in the southeast end zone during halftime of Sunday’s game. All four youth football programs are part of The Pacific Youth Football League (PYFL), a non- profit, volunteer organization created to serve the families in Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, and Northern Los Angeles Counties. The PFYL promotes youth football with the intent of providing a competitive and organized program for student-athletes between the ages of 6 & 14. RAMS TO HONOR LOS ANGELES UNIFIED STUDENT & TEACHERS OF THE MONTH On-field during halftime of Sunday’s game, the Rams will honor Los Angeles Unified School District’s Student and Teachers of the Month from the 2017 fall semester and 2018 spring semester. A video highlighting their achievements and community efforts will be displayed on the Coliseum video boards and will be shared with fans over the public-address system. Since returning home to Los Angeles in 2016, the Rams have partnered with CBS-2/KCAL-9 and Los Angeles Unified School District to celebrate students who are excelling in the classroom, and teachers who are going above and beyond to positively influence and impact the lives of their students. Each month, a deserving teacher and student is selected from a Los Angeles Unified school and recognized during a school assembly, which is led by CBS’ illustrious sports anchor Jim Hill and features a Rams player or team representative. Each honoree also receives four tickets to a Rams home game and the opportunity to enjoy the game from the peristyle deck. LOS ANGELES FIRE DEPARTMENTS TO UNFURL ‘ROCK THE RAMS HOUSE’ FLAG; RAMS EMPIRE TO SHOWCASE ‘WHOSE HOUSE, RAMS HOUSE’ BANNER One hundred representatives with various Los Angeles Fire Departments will unfurl a ‘Rock the Rams House’ flag in the southeast end zone prior to player intros and before the singing of the National Anthem. Immediately following the National Anthem, the Rams Empire Booster Club will unfurl the new ‘Whose House, Rams House’ banner in Section 29 of the LA Memorial Coliseum. 90-YEAR-OLD KOREAN WAR VETERAN TO BE RECOGNIZED AS SEASON TICKET MEMBER OF THE GAME During the third quarter of Sunday’s game, the Rams will recognize Season Ticket Member DONALD RUBIN in the Southeast end zone. Rubin is a 90-year-old veteran who served in the Korean War and was an original season ticket holder for the Rams when they played in Los Angeles from 1946-1994. When the Rams returned home to Los Angeles in 2016, Rubin’s family became season ticket holders as a way of rekindling their family tradition. As a loyal Rams fan, Rubin tries to attend the all Rams home games with his wife, children and grandchildren. RAMS FOUNDATION TO CELEBRATE FIRST COMMUNITY QUARTERBACK HONOREE OF 2018 The Rams will celebrate the team’s first Community Quarterback winner of 2018 during halftime of Sunday’s game. The Community Quarterback Award, presented by SoCal Honda Dealers, is a volunteer recognition and grant program that awards funding to deserving volunteers and the non-profits that they serve. This week’s Community Quarterback is PATRICK MOYA, who serves as a volunteer with Uplift Family Services at Hollygrove located in Hollywood. Since becoming a volunteer in 2016, Moya has been responsible for not only encouraging other volunteers in his network to help, but also convincing colleagues in his real estate office to donate funds which provide meals for families in need. Since last fall, he has made volunteering at Uplift Family Services a weekly initiative, often arriving early and leaving late to train volunteers and interact with families. The Rams Foundation and SoCal Honda Dealers will provide all Community QB winners with a $10,000 grant to further the mission of the nonprofit organization he or she serves and the opportunity to be recognized on-field at a Rams home game.
