November 7th, 2012 OPINION Page 18 Editors’ view on college students and religion When a person enters college they must take a look at their responsibilities and decide what is most important in their life. Whether their main focus shifts toward school work all depends on a person’s situation. Some people decide to put most of their effort into working, because they need to support themselves or even a family. Some put their time into making dreams come true like pursuing a music career or physically training to advance in athletics. There are a large (and growing) number of students who follow a different path and put a higher calling as number one on the priority list. When religion is the most important thing in a student’s life, there may be more motivation to do schoolwork or school could be lost in the shadows of praise and worship.
