Approval and deletion of ITU-T Recommendations

A. B. By TSB Circular 244 of 24 January 2000, it was announced that the following ITU-T Recommendations were deleted, in accordance with the procedures outlined in Resolution 1, Section 8, of the WTSC (Geneva, 1996): – ITU-T Recommendation P.36 – Efficiency of devices for preventing the occurrence of excessive acoustic pressure by telephone receivers – ITU-T Recommendation G.171 – Transmission plan aspects of privately operated networks The conditions governing the deletion of ITU-T Recommendations were met and 11 Member States participating in the last meeting of Study Group 12 proposed to delete the text of these Recommendations. Ten Administrations of Member States responded to the consultation on 21 January 2000, and no objection to the deletion was received.

International numbering plan for public data networks

Costa Rica Communication of 21.II.2000: Radiográfica Costarricense S.A., San José announces that as of 1 March 2000, it will discontinue the X.25 service (Packet Switched Data Service – PSDS) and therefore, the assignment of the data network identification codes (DNIC) 712 2 to “RACSAPAC – Abonados conectados directamente a la red”, 712 8 to “RACSAPAC - Interfuncionamiento con redes télex” and 712 9 to “RACSAPAC – Interfuncionamiento con red telefónica” have been cancelled, in accordance with the provisions of ITU-T Recommendation X.121.

Germany Communication of 3.III.2000: Issue of licences and granting of recognized operating agency (ROA) status The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, Bonn, announces that the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Posts – RegTP, Bonn, has issued a licence to a new international telecommunication operator and service provider (voice telephony services on the basis of self-operated networks). Further to the issuing of this licence, this operator and service provider has been granted the status of recognized operating agency (ROA), in accordance with Article 6 of, and Nos. 1007 and 1008 of the Annex to, the Constitution of ITU as contained in the Final Acts of the Additional Plenipotentiary Conference (Geneva, 1992). Oman Communication of 2.II.2000: Change of name The Administration of Oman announces that the name of the Ministry of Posts, Telegraphs & Telephones of the Sultanate of Oman has been changed to Ministry of Communications; H.E. Sheikh Suhail Bin Mustahail Bin Salem Shamas has been appointed as the new Minister of Communications, with effect from 25 January 2000.

Poland Communication of 6.III.2000: Issue of licences and granting of recognized operating agency (ROA) status The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the Republic of Poland, Warszawa, announces that following the structural changes introduced in 1997*, the Administration of Poland has issued a licence to the international telecommunication operator and service provider Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. This operator and service provider has been granted the status of recognized operating agency (ROA), in accordance with Article 6 of, and Nos. 1007 and 1008 of the Annex to, the Constitution of ITU as contained in the Final Acts of the Additional Plenipotentiary Conference (Geneva, 1992).
