Plans after high school graduation: I will be attending Butler University while studying health and human sciences as a part of the Physician Assistant program. After four years, I will move on to the master’s degree portion of the PA program. Upon graduation and certification, I hope to practice with a physician specific to surgery and provide medical care to those in my community who might otherwise not be able to afford it before joining an organization to provide medical care outside of the U.S. I plan to continue volunteering and giving back to my community while at Butler and beyond. Who/what inspires you: Some of my closest friends, Sunnih Flores, Amanda Tran and Joey Hurlocker, have inspired me and influenced me the most. They have all pushed me to think differently, strive for greater things, and achieve more just in the four years that we have been in high school. The best advice you have ever received: It came from a good friend whom I have always looked up to, Brooke Wininger. As we were discussing scholarships and college applications this year, Brooke told me that even if I fail at some point along the way, that I should never give up on something I really want. Things have worked out better than I could have ever imagined or dreamed so far, but I know this will not always be the case. However, I know that when things do not go as I hope, I can continue to work hard and try again until I get to where I want to be.
