A big thank you to all of the contributors, the Messenger committee and our fabulous distributors! Our village schools have once again held a competition for the children to have their picture on the front cover and this year’s winner is Georgina Horn - well done! Dorset County Council is looking at other ways of speeding up these connections such as Fibre to the Remote Node and Satellite. There is, as yet, no funding for the former and the latter may not help surfing unless your current speed is less than about 4 Mb/s. Wireless is another real possibility and a firm called Wessex Internet is actively looking at providing coverage for the Henstridge Industrial Estate and the Dorset Air Ambulance. Marnhull is close to these areas MARNHULL CRICKET CLUB DINNER AND A.G.M. and they would be interested in extending the coverage to our village. In October the club held a very enjoyable awards evening dinner Speeds of up to 50 Mb/s are possible and there is also a deal that can be attended by sixty at the village hall.

Ashton Year 6 Davidson Cup Football Match Upcoming Events Spring Year 6 Boys Term First round versus Downlands Primary School. BSN Football & Netball We all felt excited as we came onto the pitch. League Matches Players included were Charlie Gr (C), Charlie O, Year 6 Dorset Schools Cross Jake, Oliver, Ollie, George, Ashton, Jacob and Country Competition – Kings Oliver L. We attacked and defended well and when the full time whistle blew we were Park drawing 1-1. As it was a cup game it went to Tag Rugby Fair Play Festival extra time, which meant 5 minutes each way. Multi-sports Event – We were so unlucky in extra time as they Bryanston School scored 3 goals in quick succession.

We, the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, having carried out our initial review of the electoral arrangements for the district of North Dorset in accordance with the requirements of section 63 of, and Schedule 9 to, the Local Government Act 1972, present our proposals for the future electoral arrangements for that district. 2. In accordance with the procedure laid down in section 60(l) and (2) of the 1972 Act, notice was given on 31 December 1974 that we were to undertake this review. This was incorporated in a consultation letter addressed to the North Dorset District Council, copies of which were circulated to the Dorset County Council, the Member of Parliament for the constituency concerned, Parish Councils and Parish meetings in the district and the headquarters of the main political parties. Copies were also sent to the editors of local newspapers circulating in the area and of the local government press. We have not taken a break through the summer but some members have been away to exotic places for their holidays and are now keen to get on with painting some lovely scenes. Unfortunately one of our members has been poorly and we all wish her a speedy recovery and to be able to join us again at the group sessions. Sue Marsh is handing over the reins of the Group to Elaine Anthony who has some great ideas for the future and is trying to arrange a visiting local artist for the autumn. Unfortunately due to prior commitments, the Art Group were unable to give a show of their work at the Horticultural Show in September as requested but they are keen to provide some stunning art work to be displayed in some of next year’s events. If you are interested in joining the group who usually meet twice a month, the Milborne St. Andrew Parish Council second and fourth Wednesday at 7.00pm in the committee room, further details can be obtained from the village web site, village hall Vacancy for Parish Clerk notice board or by contacting Elaine Anthony on 837089. Annual membership is still only £5 from January to January and the session Applications are invited for the post of Clerk to fees are only £3 so come along and join in.
