Kwaad is able to kill her captors, mortally wound Rapuung, and injures Anakin, but a brainwashed Tahiri uses a lightsaber to decapitate Kwaad. Up, down, and all over the place, the controversial NJO series has never been a beacon of consistent storytelling. The theme of this book was bravery. Dec 03, Alfred rated it it was amazing. Anakin has always been given shorter shrift in previous books, overshadowed by the adults and his older siblings, Jacen and Jaina, so it's nice to have a book solely devoted to his adventures. And Han Solo stumbles into the dark heart of a raging battle. This article needs additional citations for verification. When dealing with legacy characters it's important to be able to capture their voice, and I think he succeeded at that even the few scenes early on with Luke and Mara felt more genuine than any of their scenes in the last book. Along the way, Anakin discovers a lambent crystal that he puts into his lightsaber as a new blade. Mostly, he seemed to argue continuously with his overly pacifistic brother, Jacen. The brutal enemy has unleashed a savage creature capable of finding and killing Jedi Knights. Most ominous of all, they are impervious to the Force. Basically, I pretty much loved everything about this book and can't think of anything that I disliked without having to basically make stuff up. I like the choice to make Anakin the only one of the "major" characters to be involved in this mission. Anakin rushes to break into the Vong camp and is actually helped by a wrongfully disgraced Vong who happens to be one of their better warriors. Good lightsaber battles, an awesome kick ss scene for Tahiri you go girl! Vua Rapuung. Rapuung tells Anakin that the only reason he saved him was because the Vong warrior's body chemistry had been physically altered by a Yuuzhan Vong shaper to Shame Rapuung by deforming him, turning him into the Yuuzhan Vong's outcast Shamed Ones society, and he needs Anakin's help to get to the praxeum and shame the shaper further. Additionally, this focus on Anakin and the events on Yavin allow us to finally learn about Things have finally taken off! By tightening the cast and centering on Anakin and Tahiri, Conquest makes the stakes feel more real and desperate.

New Mos Eisley Location Deployment Rule — To keep the three sites that represent the Mos Eisley spaceport together, the Tatooine: Mos Eisley site now has a special deployment rule: it may not be separated from the Cantina or Docking Bay 94 by any other exterior sites. Tatooine: Desert — This location’s game text prevents characters with landspeed less than 2 from moving away; however, it does not affect the movement of vehicles (and other kinds of movement, such as shuttling, landing or taking off). Characters with landspeed greater than 1 can move through the desert, but the average character needs some kind of assistance. The weapon, which was built out of spare parts donated by fellow members of the Ghost's crew, was a lightsaber-blaster hybrid. When in lightsaber mode, the weapon had an adjustable blade and could be used in combat. Blaster mode was set to stun and was built as a result of Bridger's lack of skill in deflecting blaster fire with his blade. After being rescued, Kanan Jarrus borrowed this weapon to fight the Grand Inquisitor, using it and his own lightsaber to defeat the Inquisitor. Darth Vader would destroy this weapon in a duel with Ezra Bridger during the mission to Malachor. Bridger later replaced his lightsaber with a green-bladed one. Ezra Bridger, a Padawan who trained as a Jedi in the years following the destruction of the Jedi Order, built his own lightsaber when he was 15, four years prior to the Battle of Yavin. The weapon was a lightsaber-blaster hybrid, allowing him to engage in lightsaber combat as well as firefights. The lightsaber blade was light and swift, which complemented Bridger's speed and size.

The New Jedi Order arc of stories ends on the planet of Zonama Sekot, which in turn is just a small stitch in the tapestry woven to create the series. Dozens of worlds have succumbed to occupation or annihilation, and even the Jedi Knights have tasted defeat. After reading Vector Prime, I was thrilled to look into this lengthy collection, yet as I review the books by Stackpole, Luceno, and also Tyers, I was entirely disappointed. Part of the problem is the vastand growingdramatis personae of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Learn More. I really enjoyed this book. Overall a bit chaotic but by no means a dud. In the Agents of Chaos duology, Han hits rock bottom in his plight to deal with this tragic event and even sees him take on a new co-pilot. Anakin shows up in the nick of time as well as does what he can. With this, Anakin is now able to sense the Yuuzhan Vong in a whole new way that exists outside the Force, albeit this new sense only gives Anakin a rather fuzzy look at the Vong.
