The 50 Greatest Pop-Punk Albums of All Time. Thanks to Loudwire for including ‘Does This Look Infected?’ and ‘All Killer No Filler’ in their list of ‘The 50 Greatest Pop-Punk Albums of All Time.’ Screaming Bloody Murder. Screaming Bloody Murder is the second track from Sum 41's fifth album Screaming Bloody Murder. Lyrics [ ] I’m not quite myself these days Guess we all come undone Time to time, in different ways Well, I have myself to blame Guess I don’t understand I need help in many ways. God’s got a plan for me Well I’m gonna tell you one thing I don’t got the patience or the time What can I say I’m no angel, I’m not forsaken But I can bleed. Tear me open, I believe God will set you up to bleed And no one can deceive What is meant to be And ‘bloody murder’ we will scream. Well I guess it’s time for me Tell me what I’m left to believe in ‘Cause I don’t know the concept of the pain I don’t want the faith, I’ll just lose it I can prove it Watch me bleed. Tear me open, I believe God will set you up to bleed And no one can deceive What is meant to be And ‘bloody murder’ we will scream God will set you up to tear me open. ‘Cause I’m not giving up No self-control Suffocated to the bone I’m my worst enemy Who can’t be saved I’m just His disgrace. Tear me open, I believe God will set you up to bleed And no one can deceive What is meant to be And ‘bloody murder’ we will scream God will set you up to tear me open. These days are strange, it’s true There’s not a thing that I would change No mistakes that I’d undo. Screaming Bloody Murder Album. Screaming Bloody Murder is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock band Sum 41, released on March 29, 2011, after many delays. It is the band's second album produced by frontman Deryck Whibley. It is the band's last album to be released on Island Records before they had fulfilled their contract with the major label in 2016 and their first album not to be released on Aquarius Records, which they left in 2010. The album has received mixed reviews. It is the last album to be released with longtime original drummer, Steve Jocz before he announced his departure from the band in April 2013. It is also the first album to feature guitarist Tom Thacker, best known as vocalist for fellow Canadian punk group Gob. Even though Thacker was already a part of the band and co-wrote the title track of the album, all guitars were still recorded by singer Deryck Whibley. Thacker was also uncredited in the album's liner notes, though he was seen in photos with the band in the album's booklet. more » Share your thoughts about the Screaming Bloody Murder album with the community: Report Comment. Screaming Bloody Murder (album) Screaming Bloody Murder is the fifth studio album to Sum 41. It is the last album with Steve Jocz before he is replaced by Frank Zummo. It is also the first album to have Tom Thacker on lead guitar. History [ ] In late 2008, the band planned to return to the studio to record a new EP (similar to Half Hour of Power), but Deryck kept writing more new material and it got to so much that they had about 30 songs that Deryck had written. The band had hired the legendary producer Gil Norton to produce. the album, according to Steve, Norton forced him to do 20+ retakes if there was a mistake. Eventually, Gil was dismissed and Whibley put it on himself to produce their future album. Sum 41 Screaming Bloody Murder. It's a damning thought thinking that Sum 41 were once a very respected, sought-after punk band, expecially in the USA. All Killer No Filler, the revolutionary album that always comes to mind when Sum 41 are mentioned, is now just a memory as Screaming Bloody Murder comes into play. Because this is All Filler and definitely No Killer, despite what the title would tell you. First things first, Sum 41 have lost their entire punk edge on this album. Fat Lip, In Too Deep and Motivation all had that riff, that drumline, that punk atmosphere. There's nothing on this album that suggests any of this. There's too much piano-led songs, too many pauses, breaks and not enough music. The lyrics are dreadful, especially in Crash (a soppy ballad which could have quite easily been avoided) and the theme of the album? There's no murder here. The titles are misleading too: seeing Sick of Everyone on the tracklisting put pre-conceptions in my mind of what the track would be like, hopefully old-school S41. But no. Let down, almost greeted by Nickelback, or some band of that field. It's too over-produced, far too different and theres not enough here to keep the listener interested. One positive about the album, and that is that the title track is actually very good. The song Screaming Bloody Murder, even though it has the stupid slow piano start, has a killer riff, a fast upbeat rhythym and I would have genuinely preferred this if it was a single. Overall, poor effort.
