After a long wait, Nanan ballerinas are ready to appear on stage and shine like stars! Dedicated to all the little princesses, to their passions and fulfillment 2 Nel sorriso di un bambino c’è tutta la bellezza del suo cuore In the smile of a child, there is the beauty of his heart “Il bimbo Funny Bear è vivace e spiritoso, sempre impegnato a combinare qualche marachella, ma pronto a trasformarsi in un piccolo ometto in camicia e papillon, per le grandi occasioni” “Funny Bear is a lively and witty boy, always up to some mischief, but ready to turn into a little man in suit and bow tie, for special occasions” 4 A volte le parole non bastano per esprimere ciò che il cuore non può sussurrare Sometimes the words are not enough to express what the heart cannot whisper “Tanto tempo fa delle piccole cenerentole vivevano nella splendida e fredda Russia, attornate dal bianco paesaggio che le caratterizza. Tutte insieme giocano e si ritrovano nel castello incantevole e scintillante di Fiocco di Neve, la principessa del paese. Spiritosa, vanitosa quanto basta, allegra e gioiosa come un raggio di sole che riscalda i lunghi inverni della Russia.” “Once upon a time, little Cinderellas lived in magnificent and ice-cold Russia, surrounded by candid white landscapes. They used to play together in a beautiful and shiny castle, home of princess Snowflake… she was witty with a touch of vanity , her joy was like a ray of sunlight warming the long and freezy Russian winter.” 9 “...La giovane Fiocco di Neve aveva la pelle luccicante come la neve, i suoi occhi avevano il colore delle violette e i suoi capelli dorati le donavano una lucentezza ammaliante” “...Young Snowflake had sparkling skin , and eyes char- ming as violets …her hair of gold lent her an enchanting luster” 10 Sono i piedini più piccoli a lasciare le orme più grandi nella nostra vita. The littlest feet leave the greatest footprints in our lives. 12 Non dire a nessuno il bene che ti voglio neanche al mondo, sarebbe invidioso di una cosa più grande di lui... Dont’t tell anyone how much I love you, not even to the world... he would be envious of something greater than him... 14 Stamattina il sole pensava di essere la cosa più bella al mondo, ma non si era accorto che tu, stavi ancora sotto le coperte! This morning the sun thought to be the most beautiful thing in the world, but he had not noticed that you were still sleeping! 16 Look Book FW 2016/17 Nuvola Layette I163091A Chenille hat I163211A PROPERTYINSIDE: 34-PAGESPECIAL HOME ADVANTAGE THE FRIDAY EDITION SEPTEMBER 29 2017 FE80_Cover_PRESS.indd 1 11/09/2017 16:53 THE SHARPENER alpaca punch Strong yet soft, smart yet relaxed – it’s no wonder alpaca is leading the pack this season, says Tom Stubbs fabric that’s extra light, versatile, strong yet utterly luxurious: it sounds like a menswear designer’s fantasy. But alpaca has, of course, been around for ages – it’s just that its superlative qualities have not beenA fully appreciated until this season. The springy, ultra-soft fibres from the underbellies and necks of a species of camelid living in the Andes make for some very special fabrics. When woven, alpaca takes on various textures, from soft and voluminous to coarse and cropped. And as lightweight fabrications and distinctive textures become defining characteristics of contemporary men’s style, it’s not surprising that alpaca is now being shepherded into a lead role. Brunello Cucinelli, who built his empire on cashmere, has also put alpaca to work beautifully in his signature unstructured tailored outerwear, such as a glen-check short coat (£3,760) and roomy one-and-a-half breasted camel- (£1,390) and bomber jackets (£1,060, colour coat (£3,890). Likewise at Canali, pictured below) in wool/alpaca/mohair/ where deconstructed drapey overcoats silk bouclé take inspiration from 1960s silhouettes, as does a single-breasted overcoat (£1,470) in a wool/alpaca blend. They pass muster at smart occasions, yet their subtle texture and soft construction mean they also work as weekend throw- ons. The highlight at Chester Barrie is a Change coat (£2,950, pictured below right), its navy cashmere contrasting Alpaca is ideal cable-knit turtleneck (£395) have with a lush black alpaca lapel (made by for upgrading a 1940s quality about them.

  • Duffel Entendre | Financial Times
04/01/2020, 10:37 Page 1 of 1 Style Add to myFT Duffel entendre From counterculture to catwalk, the classic coat is enjoying a renaissance Share Save David Hayes NOVEMBER 12 2011 Until this year’s groundswell of political and social unrest, “protest movement” seemed like a term wrapped in nostalgia, recalling earnest young men wearing horn-rimmed glasses, hair just below their collar, their copies of Allen Ginsberg’s Howl tucked into the front pocket of their duffel coats. Picture the 1968 student riots in Paris, or British parliamentarian Michael Foot at the head of a CND rally in Trafalgar Square, and you’ll get the idea. And yet, with uncanny synchronicity, just as the current Occupy Wall Street protests have gone global, the duffel coat, that very British symbol of the heady days of sit-ins and banner-waving is also back, making its own quiet revolution – in men’s wear. Admittedly, it’s not exactly counterculture. Indeed, it’s almost the opposite, but designers from Burberry to Bottega Veneta, Balmain, Raf Simons and Junya Watanbe have all run up versions of the classic British navy coat, complete with decidedly un- protest-friendly price tags. In fact some of the numbers could provoke a mini-riot all of their own. “The duffel has become a real luxury item this winter,” says Stacey Smith, men’s wear buyer at Matches. “We have an amazing fur-trimmed Balmain duffel coat that takes it to a whole other level at £3,888.” Jeremy Langmead, editor-in-chief at Mr Porter, says the appeal of the duffel coat lies in the fact that it is an item of clothing that has been adopted by both the establishment and the anti-establishment.

  • Sweet Memories of Scent and Sweat
IAN WERE SWEET MEMORIES OF SCENT AND SWEAT Clothes and fabrics worn on our bodies retain their own memories in several ways. Clothes take on part of the wearer, a memory by way of perspiration, or traces of other bodily fluids, like blood – evident through a scent or stain. These can be fresh smelling, a bouquet really, or bitter-sweet or sour. Or, if left for a long time, strongly perfumed from bacteria, mixed perhaps with whatever the wearer was doing at the time, as in dust, food or grease from the day’s toil. Many clothes are made to get dirty; some are simply disposable, along with their memories. Hats and textiles often grow into the shape of the wearer: we’ve all seen a certain shaped head or body echoed in their apparel. Clothes can also leave a memory of themselves on our bodies. The mark left around the waist or stomach from a tight elastic band or belt, for example. Even images of fashion models with trim figures show such signs – pre-photo-shopping that is. On some people these marks appear as a semi-permanent reminder of something long-worn. The traces made from tight socks or the band of a wristwatch, or the altered hair shape or impression left on a brow from a hat worn all day. Likewise, a naked sun-tanned or sun-burned body can faithfully reflect an image of an item of clothing previously worn, a singlet or bathers – a simple photogram through exposure and development. On occasions the memory of a person can be vividly recalled simply by looking at an item of clothing.
