Royal Marine Hotel Family Activities To help make the most of your stay with us we have compiled an interesting and exciting list of activities including walking trips, water activities and much more in Dún Laoghaire and beyond for all the family. EAST PIER & TEDDY'S ICE-CREAM You can’t visit Dún Laoghaire without taking a stroll on the East Pier and taking in the breath-taking views. The East Pier is just under 3km to walk there and back so is ideal for young children and also suitable for people who have minor difficulties walking as the ground surface is very even. Just across the road is the famous Teddy’s Ice cream which is definitely worth a visit before or after your stroll. DUBLIN BAY CRUISES Sail between Dún Laoghaire, Dublin City & Howth from March to October. This idyllic cruise on the capital’s beautiful Dublin Bay has become a “must” on every one’s to do list. With views of the stunning landscapes of the Dublin Mountains, Ireland’s Eye, Lambay Island, Dalkey Island, Joyce’s Martello Tower, the Baily Lighthouse to name but a view, this is a day out not to be missed. AIRFIELD ESTATE Airfield is not just a beautiful place with a remarkable history, the farm at Airfield encourages visitors to explore, experience farm life up close and even get hands-on. The gardens in Airfield are just over six acres in size and composed of diverse spaces ranging from an ornamental walled garden. HARBOUR SPLASH Harbour Splash is Dublin's first inflatable aqua park. The Dún Laoghaire tourist attraction is an obstacle course over water including trampolines, climbing frames, slides, monkey bars offers guaranteed fun, whether you are coming with a few friends or in a big group. Anyone from age 6 upwards can enjoy the park. PEOPLE'S PARK The People’s Park in Dún Laoghaire is only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, the beautiful landscaped gardens are the ideal place to go for a walk and rest and take in the day to day life. There is a playground area for young children and every Sunday they have a farmers' market where local products are available to buy and take home as souvenirs. DÚN LAOGHAIRE, DALKEY, AND KILLINEY LOOP Approx 14 kilometres loop trail located near Dún Laoghaire offering scenic views and is rated as moderate. This walk takes you from the seaside town of Dún Laoghaire and its Harbour along the coast through Sandycove and Dalkey before climbing to the summit of Killiney Hill, overlooking Killiney Bay, and then returning to Dún Laoghaire. SANDYCOVE HERITAGE WALK A delightful walk, approx 1 hour, around one of the most picturesque and historic coastal villages .The walk begins at the People’s Park, which was known as Glasthule Quarry in the late 18th century and takes in The Metals Walkway, St Joseph’s Church, Glasthule Village, Sandycove Harbour, the Martello Tower known as Joyce’s Tower made famous in Ulysses and the Forty Foot. BRAY TO GREYSTONES CLIFF WALK This linear walk takes you from Bray to Greystones along the stunning coastal path. The path is well maintained, and you can return by light rail (DART) to the start point. Greystones has plenty to offer the hungry walker after beautiful views and a range of marine wildlife.
