Who Should Attend  Council Key 3’s and District Key 3’s  Commissioners of all types, including Council and Assistant Council Commissioners, Council Roundtable Training Commissioners, District and Assistant District Commissioners, and District Roundtable Commissioners  Vice Presidents or Chairmen of Council Standing Committees, such as Advancement, Camping, Exploring, Finance, Marketing, Membership, Outdoor Adventure, Training, and  Chairmen of District Committees for Advancement, Camping, Finance, Marketing, Membership, Training, Outdoor Adventure and more  Council Cub Adventure Program Coordinators  All Council and District key volunteers who might benefit

What You Can Expect  Learn about the new Cub Adventure Program as a means for enhancing membership growth.  Receive updates, information and materials from our National BSA Office.  Discuss your Council’s most pressing concerns and identify ways your Area committees can better meet your needs.  Discover what we can learn from each other by sharing both our challenges and our successes.  Share good fellowship and network with your peers from other councils. The Purpose of the Area Meeting The Area 6 Committee was established and is organized under the format adopted by the BSA to better serve and support our Area 6 Councils. Although electronic communications are incredibly useful, there is no better way to share information and ideas than the occasional face-to-face meeting.

We know your time is valuable so we designed this meeting to provide valuable information that you can actually use. The contacts you make and the information you receive will help you provide better programs to the youth we serve. We arranged for facilities at a relatively central location, Cecil College in North East, MD. There will be a $35.00 registration fee to cover facility fees, materials, beverages, continental breakfast and lunch. A late registration fee of $40.00 will be charged for registrations not received by Friday, March 13, 2015.

The format of the meeting will include an opening presentation by Al Lambert, Director, Central Region, B.S.A., entitled Build an Adventure Campaign: New and Exciting Ways to Grow Membership. This will be followed by detailed workshops covering the many functions of councils and districts, including a detailed tutorial on the New Cub Scout Adventure Program. Please refer to the enclosed agenda for details.

What to Wear We request that all attendees wear their Scout uniform. If you do not have a uniform, executive casual attire is appropriate.

Location The location for this year’s Area 6 Workshop is the Cecil College, North East Campus, One Seahawk Drive, North East, Maryland. We will hold our workshop in the college’s Technology Center, located through the tunnel directly opposite the main entrance to the college. Overnight Accommodations For those who may desire to arrive on Friday evening, we have arranged special overnight rates at a nearby hotel.  Best Western (within walking distance to the college). Call 410-287-5450 and mention the rate. That rate is $94.00 (plus tax) on a room with either a king bed or two queens, breakfast included. The hotel address is: 39 Elwoods Road, North East, MD.
