We had a very good response and at the time of writing there are only two rows left to be copied. The Rose Garden has been done and the Memorial Wall is being brought up to date. Thanks to all for a wonderful effort. I have been told there is a Rose Garden at the Warrnambool Church of England, so we will have to see about those details. With the amalgamation of the various shires, Warrnambool Shire became part of the Shire of Moyne, and it was feared that the Shire Rate Records would be lost to Warrnambool, hence an application was made to the Shire of Moyne that these be left in our care. As a result, the Shire of Moyne has given us, on permanent loan, forty (40) microfilms of the Shire Rates from 1874 to 1981. The Shire of Moyne intends to film the remainder of these records in due course. We are delighted with their generosity, as this will make researching these records so much easier for those whose ancestors lived in the area. Good luck with your research. Sincerely, Marie Boyce * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * SEMINAR Warrnambool Branch of the AIGS Inc. are holding a Seminar on Saturday the 11th May, 1996, from 9:30am to 4 :00 pm, at the Warrnambool Fire Brigade Complex, Raglan Parade, Warrnambool.
