Corporate tax Enterprises on Free Zones are exempt from : • Income tax established by Law No. 5911 and amendments (currently Law 11-92 of the Tax Code and amendments) relating to stock companies; • tax on construction, loan contracts and on the registration and transfer of property starting from the constitution of the operator of the correspon- ding free zone; • tax on constituting business associations or increasing their capital; • municipal tax that may affect these activities; • all import tax, customs, duties and other sundry charges affecting raw mate- rials, equipment, building material, building components, office equipment, all of which destined for: constructing, equipping or operating in the free zones; • all existing export and re-export taxes, except in some cases set forth by the law; • consular fees for all imports destined for free zone operators or companies; • import tax on equipment and tools necessary for installing and operating canteens, health service, medical assistance, child care centers, entertain- ment or amenities and any other equipment meant for the well being of the working class; • import tax on transport equipment, whether haulage vehicles, garbage trucks, among others, subject to approval from the National Free Zones Council; among other benefits. They will also be exempt from paying income tax on profits and/or reinvest- ment declared as taxable income by individuals or entities that are invested in setting up and developing free zones pursuant to the following percentage index. Under no circumstance can the annual deduction for exemption or exo- neration exceed 50% of the annual income according to the following percen- tages: • 100%, ie the complete deductible income in the case of free zone operators established in the free zone along the country´s border; 4 WFZO Index cards - Dominican Republic • 80% of the total deductible income for the National Borough (Distrito Nacio- nal) and within a 50 km radius; • 90% of the total deductible income for operators located in geographical areas outside those specified in letters a) and b).
