February Trip – Sunday 12th February Meeting News Tippara Rocks

th Next meeting is on the 14 February at Western We will be fishing at Tippara rocks which is just north Youth Centre, Marion Road, Cowandilla of Balgowan on Yorke Peninsula.

Meet at the Balgowan Shop at 8:00am. Lines out will be decided on the morning and will depend on the Upcoming Trips state of the .

This is a and rock trip. The beach is similar to Sunday 15th January Glenelg Beach with firm white sand. At the end of the beach is a reef and this is where the main action Tennyson Beach will be. As the tide recedes we will be able to walk 6am to 10am out onto the reef and in 12 ft of water. Expect to catch Garfish and tommies but also expect to catch This is a local beach trip with a focus on the odd , Snook, Snapper and rock fish. Yellowfin Whiting and possible Garfish The best rig is a float with trailing number 8 hooks. Burley is a must so connect a burley spring to you Meet at the corner of Mirani Court and Military float and use bread soaked with fish oil. Best bait is a combination of gents and . Club Champions for 2010/2011 Season The rig for Yellowfin Whiting is very simple – use number 8 hooks and fish as light as possible. The best rig is one with a running sinker with a hook below and above the sinker. Best bait for Yellowfin is worms – either Tube Worms, Worms or Bungham worms.

The rig for garfish is a float with several number 8 hooks trailing. Use a burley spring with bread soaked in pilchard oil and use Gents for bait.

The Freshwater AAA Championships was held in Resignation November at Cobdogla/Lake Bonney. This was a successful trip with over 5000 carp I have accepted a position in Perth and will being caught weighing in total approx. 3 tonne, commence work from 5th February. I expect to however many were quite small travel back to once a month however I am Results: unlikely to be able to attend club meetings and therefore I have resigned as President. A new Mens: President will be elected at the February General - Rex 53.2kg Meeting. Also our Secretary has resigned and we - Heath 45.36kg will need to elect a replacement. AAA Championship results for WDAC 2011 Overall AAA Competitions: - Mens came 3rd with 265.2 points - Womens came 2nd with 312.4 points - Juniors came 1st with 210.6 points
