La ferita più grave inferta alla cultura sembrava la chiusura della Discoteca di stato, che è invece rientrata, ma che è stata trattata come fosse una disco night di maniaci strafatti e nostalgici. È evidente che nelle conoscenze dei professori, non rientrano le parole «memoria culturale», radici, strumenti per conoscere. Monti come Fornero come Ornaghi, sanno solo del proprio orto, e comunque in astratto, come semplice campo di applicazione teorica. Ma il peggio doveva venire con gli altri insensati articoli della rewiew dell'austera ignoranza. Finiscono fuori legge, e quindi condannati a morte come ha denunciato Federculture, tutti quegli enti che a questo paese assicurano ancora un minimo di informazione e scambio culturale: da Santa Cecilia al Palaexpo, da molti musei agli enti lirici. Non c'era bisogno di tanti cervelloni, consulenti e potatori di «sprechi», bastava riesumare Attila o Nerone o qualche altro personaggio similare di più recente memoria; qualche campione di strafalcioni che sfregandosi le mani si gloriasse del «li faccio fori tutti».
