VO This is a groundbreaking weekend 01.17 [Some spectators say “ Welcome to Russia” in Russian] Yes – welcome to Russia’s new world class racing circuit, where 85,000 spectators have gathered to watch World Series By Renault make its grand opening!

01.33 JINGLE – ONBOARD

(A guide to the new circuit) 01.42 ITV Roberto Moreno (In English) “Hello, I am Roberto Moreno…from Moscow Raceway. Let’s go and have a lap with me in the race car”

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault-sport.com 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France

01.49 In the wet, this car is really enjoyable to drive. We are in the front straight…first corner, I am a slow here in 2 nd gear. You can probably go in 3 rd when it is dry…but for safety, you go in 2 nd . Keep in 2 nd for 3 rd and 4 th corner. Little bit of oversteer on the exit but then there is a blind downhill…very slippery here and then you have to be very careful for this corner in 2 nd gear, it is like you’re coming back. Traction is a problem here on the exit… And then this corner, it is the beginning of the back straight… so you have to be very quick out of there. In the dry you go flat but in the wet, you have to be very careful here, my car is sliding there.

02.40 Another hard braking for this sharp right in 2 nd gear. Another difficult corner here with the traction. More or less, most of the corners are in 2 nd gear because I was trying to be very safe. As you saw there, a little bit of oversteer on the exit…here understeer then oversteer out on the way. This corner, you don’t see the entrance because it is a very tight corner. You have got a couple more corners here, it is like an S before the main straight. Also this right-hander before the main straight, you have to be careful to get the maximum speed as possible. I went a little wide there to try to get more traction.

03.29 And then you have this main straight, as you can see I am taking it very easy at this time. Trying to learn from the other drivers and not getting in their way. There is a hard braking in 2 nd gear again. This was a lap with Roberto Moreno”

03.51 VO: Moreno is a veteran of 42 Formula 1 Grand Prix. He also made his name in American Champ Cars, finishing 3 rd in 2000. Accustomed to Super Touring and Grand Touring cars, the Brazilian should have little trouble finding his way round this high-performance Saloon car.

04.17 ITV Roberto Moreno (In English) “I really wanted to get behind the wheels of a car for a while…Coming to all the races, seeing this great car, I asked my friend at Renault if there was an opportunity…I would take a chance although it has been 3 years since I drove competitively a car. The power of the Renault engine is fantastic and very well balanced with the grip from the Michelin tyres. It is a great category for a Saloon car…it is the best Saloon car I ever driven. I am very pleased with that team and it is now just a matter of doing some laps and getting used to it”.

05.13 Going off wide, KVYAT retains the lead as the go through the first corners.

05.19 There’s plenty of action in the tight knit pack, as Alexander ALBON (#20 – The – Epic) and Yu KANAMARU (#17 – Jpn – KTR) are off the track.

05.27 The safety car comes out, and after the running gets back under way, it’s still 17-year-old Daniil KVYAT in the lead.

05.42 Patrick KUJALA (#1 – Fin - Korainen) spins and is out of the running.

05.49 Stoffel VANDOORNE tries to take back the lead, but KVYAT, running in front of his home crowd, hangs onto the number one position in a tooth and nail battle down the pit straight.

06.03 Another Russian driver, Konstantin TERESCHENKO, pushes too hard, spins and is out of the running.

06.50 PODIUM It’s history in the making, as a Russian takes the top step of the podium for the first time at the Moscow Raceway.

07.01 JINGLE – MY CAREER

Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 – Daniil Kvyat 07.06 (Ambience – no VO) – Kvyat (clip – 10 seconds)

07.15 ITV Daniil KVYAT #3 RUS (Koiranen Motorsport) (In Russian (do not talk over), then English) “Welcome to Moscow Raceway”.

07.20 VO: The 17-year-old Russian driver Daniil KVYAT, is the first Russian to have won here in Moscow and the track, will no doubt, for the rest of his days have a special attachment for this raceway.

07.30 ITV Daniil KVYAT #3 RUS (Koiranen Motorsport) (In English) “Well I have to say it is a very important step for Russian motor sport, first of all because I think it’s the first ever track like this, here, in history, so this is definitely a very important step.”

07.44 VO While racing here for the first time is a thrill, any race has to be entered with a level head.

07.51 ITV Daniil KVYAT #3 RUS (Koiranen Motorsport) (In English) “Well you know when I am on the track it is just another track where I have to be very fast and try to find the best line for me, and try not to think too much about where I am and just focus on driving fast and that’s it. Well it’s quite a nice track. I think there is a lot of changing of direction and definitely it’s not like Spa Francorchamps... maybe it’s not as amazing, but it’s a European class track... it’s something at the level of the European tracks.”

08.23 VO: That said, it’s nice to have family and home crowd supporters at the track... a good motivator.

08.31 ITV Daniil KVYAT #3 RUS (Koiranen Motorsport) (In English) “I definitely have a few friends who will be coming and my parents, and yeah that will be quite emotional on that side... It’s a very emotional race for me... definitely.”

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault-sport.com 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France

08.42 VO: For Russia, the opening of this new world-class circuit will, according to Daniil, have a big flow on effect in the press.

08.48 ITV Daniil KVYAT #3 RUS (Koiranen Motorsport) (In English) “Oh well they were writing a lot about it I guess lately, so everyone knows about the circuit already and everywhere I have been ... in the centre of Moscow, there are commercials about it, on the radio stations, so I guess it was a very good commercial for this circuit.”

09.06 VO It’s sure that the Russian media’s lenses will be trained on this new shining star in their home constellation.

09.15 ITV Daniil KVYAT #3 RUS (Koiranen Motorsport) (In English) “It’s a very good sign that finally we’ve got our Russian driver and I think it would be important to have some proper tracks like this here in Russia, and as I said before it is a very important step right now because now all the French people, Italian and Spanish people have their home race, and we were foreign to them, but now finally, Russia has a home race and we are happy with that.”

09.49 JINGLE – EUROCUP FORMULA RENAULT 2.0

RACE 2 – Highlights & Interview 09.53 (Race start) From the start of race two of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, Daniil KVYAT (#3), starting from second place on the grid behind Stoffel VANDOORNE (#7), slips into the lead going through the first corner. Oliver ROWLAND (#44) remains in third position.

10.09 Just like in the first race, slippery track conditions due to dust and the new bitumen pay their toll, here with OCON (#2) sliding and taking Ed JONES (#4) off at the same time.

10.14 The track continues to take its victims, as MAVLANOV (#15) heads for the gravel.

10.20 Half way through the race, it’s become an off road event for virtually all the cars... including the leading pair of KVYAT, followed closely, as in race one, by VANDOORNE.

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault-sport.com 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France

10.27 Some cars, like the one of VERMONT (#29), appear to be spending more time off the track than on it.

10.38 Matthieu VAXIVIERE (#12) also heads for the gravel, while Miki WECKSTROM (#16) does some lawn mowing.

10.56 Despite the carnage in the pack, the two leaders remain on target, and while VANDOORNE never lets go of his prey, he doesn’t manage to get into the lead, and KVYAT wins on home ground for the second time.

11.05 The KORAINEN brothers racing team are absolutely over the moon.

11.12 GFX – FINAL CLASSIFICATION

11:20 ITV Daniil KVYAT #3 RUS (Korainen Motorsports) (In English) Yes... I really don’t know what to say. I will probably never forget this weekend, because of the double win, and Kaufmann racing was really cross here, but we managed to be better... just a fantastic start once again, and I am very happy, very happy thanks to my team and everybody who supports me. Now we’re leading the championship again and looking forward to the next races.

11.42 PODIUM Two races, and two wins for the young Russian hopeful Daniil KVYAT in the first weekend’s top level racing ever held in this country. In second place, Stoffel VANDOORNE just a few hundredths of a second behind KVYAT. In third place, Oliver ROWLAND.

11.48 GFX – CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS As an added bonus, KVYAT takes a narrow lead in the championship ahead of VANDOORNE

12.05 JINGLE – FORMULA RENAULT 3.5 SERIES

MOSCOW RACE 1 – HIGHLIGHTS 12.10 (Race start) Race one of the Formula Renault 3.5 series – the very first race on the Moscow Raceway, sees Robin FRIJNS (#4) starting from pole position, and keeping the lead ahead of Marco SORENSEN (#12), Jules BIANCHI (#8) and (#28).

12.30 FRIJNS digs himself a gap over the first laps, getting up to around two seconds ahead of SORENSEN... but his lead won’t last for long... (OBC -Sorensen) SORENSEN catches up with the leader, but in an attempt to overtake, spins and loses four places.

12.49 Carlos HUERTAS (#3) spins towards the end of the race and is out of the running, bringing out the yellow flag and the safety car.

12.57 A few minutes from the finish, the running is exceptionally tough, with several tail enders running off, and NEBLITSKIY (#18) spinning and abandoning... the safety car is out until the last lap.

13.07 Robin FRIJNS goes through to win the event, ahead of Jules BIANCHI (#8), Sam BIRD (#5), followed by PIC, SORENSEN and KORJUS, as still on the same lap, in the last corner, several tail enders, including ROSSI (#25), MAGNUSSEN (#1) and FORESTI (#27) spin off.

13.20 Robin FRIJNS is absolutely thrilled to be the first winner in the history of the Moscow Raceway.

13.22 GFX – FINAL CLASSIFICATION

13.33 ITV Robin FRIJNS #4 NED () (In English) “It was a really tough race. We’re at the same pace the top three – three or four drivers, and I had a big fight with Sorensen. I was really pushing and a little mistake he came by and it was kind of sad that he spun but we didn’t touch whatsoever, he just went off line and he spun... but a bit of a shame because championship wise if he was second it would have been better for me, but OK, it happened. But anyway it was two safety cars, I had a good gap afterwards, around three seconds or so. And the pressure was back on. I thought I had a free gap to take it easy, but I didn’t have one moment to take it easy in the race so it was a tough one.”

13.54 PODIUM

14.03 JINGLE – F1 ABC

(Formula 1 meets Formula Renault 3.5 Series) 14.07 VO Quite a weekend for Robin Frijns… As 2012 championship leader after the last round, at Nurburgring, he received an incredible prize – a chance to drive the Red Bull Racing Renault Formula 1 car here at the Moscow Raceway…

14.28 ITV Robin Frijns (in English) Happy like a little child, really. It’s everybody’s dream, and to drive this Red Bull car which won races, it’s just a dream for me.

14.39 VO What is the most visible difference from your Formula Renault 3.5 car?

14.43 ITV Robin Frijns (in English) “It’s just the steering wheel, and it’s the whole computer you need to know. I’m not gonna push all the buttons I’m just gonna use the clutch, the gears, and that’s really it.”

14.53 VO So… looking forward to Russia then?!

14.57 ITV Robin Frijns (in English) “It’s the first time at the circuit, and my first time in a formula 1 car, it’s just amazing.”

15.02 And so to Russia – where the 2010 World Championship winning Red Bull Racing Renault Formula 1 car awaits him, and some advice from Daniel Ricciardo, a World Series By Renault graduate now racing in Formula 1, who remembers his first time…

Renault Sport Technologies Tél. : +33 (0)1 76 82 82 00 Z.A. Courtaboeuf Fax. : 33 (0)1 76 82 83 75 14, avenue des Tropiques Internet : www.renault-sport.com 91 978 Courtaboeuf Cedex - France

15.17 ITV Daniel Ricciardo (Toro Rosso F1 driver, Red Bull Racing Reserve Driver)(in English) “It’s awesome… The first time you go to full throttle and just keep going up the gears – I mean there’s 7 gears to get through – and it just keeps pulling back… so the power definitely takes your breath away the first few times. And then you feel how much downforce the car has, and the quicker you go through the corner generally the better the car feels so you just want to go quicker and quicker. The clutch is similar to World Series, so just pull away and build up through the gears, and get up to speed. I don’t think he’ll be expected to do any burnouts, or anything fancy, so easy, no pressure, let him enjoy it. It’s probably been the best hour of his life, definitely excited. You’re always a bit nervous, but definitely more excited than nervous.”

16.15 ITV Robin Frijns (In English) “Well it’s so different from the World Series car, there’s so much more grip, the acceleration and deceleration, it’s quite a big step – bigger than I expected. So it’s really awesome to drive it. I took it easy because I need my energy for the World Series race, which is more important for me at this moment. But I think if I did a proper run, 10-15 laps, my doubt will be gone by then, I think.”

16.39 VO Now – time to get back in the Formula Renault 3.5 car for race 2!

16.46 ITV Robin Frijns (in English) “It’s a big step backwards now! I have to get used to that!”

16.53 JINGLE – FORMULA RENAULT 3.5 SERIES

RACE 2 – HIGHLIGHTS & INTERVIEW 16.57 (Race start) Jules BIANCHI #8) starts from pole in race two of the Formula Renault 3.5 series, alongside Marco SORENSEN (#12), and as they head through the first corners, a good part of the pack, including BIANCHI goes out wide.

17.25 BIANCHI loses control again a few corners on, and is hit by SORENSEN, dropping back into the middle of the pack, only to be hit yet again by Alexander ROSSI (#25).

17.32 The slippery track also pays its toll on the two Lotuses of Marco SORENSEN (#12) and Cesar RAMOS (#11).

17.42 After several laps by the safety car while the cars are cleared from the track, Arthur PIC (#28) takes the lead, and it’s the turn of Yann CUNHA (#19) to head into the gravel.

17.52 In the end, PIC digs a comfortable lead, winning from GRUBMULLER, and KORJUS, who moved from fifth to third in the last lap.

18.10 GFX – Final Classification

18.18 ITV Arthur PIC #28 FRA (DAMS) (In English) “Yeah, what a race... There was a big crash on the second corner, and I went through on the left to be first on the first lap, then a long safety car session. The car was really good. I could dig a gap just after the safety car. The pit stop was also very fast and the car was amazing. It’s my first win after two pole positions in Motorland, so I am very happy!”
