Students’ evaluation The group for the Evaluation of Education (OΜΕΑ) of the Department of Informatics and Telematics has recently processed the evaluation questionnaires filled by the undergraduate students for the year 2011- 2012. The factor analysis examined the quality and effectiveness of teaching (Effectiveness) and the organization and implementation of teaching (Organization). The results for the courses that I teach are depicted in the following table (5-likert scale). Scientific Activities Α. Research interests My research interests fall in the area of Data managements and mining with a focus on the extraction and management of knowledge from the web and social media. I continuously monitor the evolution of research and the new opportunities and challenges that rise in the field. Text mining A large part of my research the last five years has been dedicated in the use of semantic information in text mining tasks, such as text clustering and classification, word sense disambiguation, sentence
