About the band Gábor Bolla, tenor sax (Hungary) Born in Budapest in 1988. At the age of ten he started playing the clarinet, at twelve he won first prize in the National Music Schools' Competition in Hungary. Then he took up the saxophone and in 2003 made it to the semi-finals of the World Saxophone Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2004 he received the Hans Koller Prize as the Talent of the Year, followed by Hans Koller Prize – New York Stipendium in 2006. Gábor became a leading jazz musician in his own country, performed at festivals around the world with such artists as Kirk Lightsey, Johnny Griffin, Jimmy Wormworth, Alvin Queen, Jeff „Tain” Watts, Gregory Hutchinson, Robert Lakatos, Dave Young, Ira Coleman, Alex Riel, Jesper Lundgaard, Vienna Art Orchestra, Modern Art Orchestra, Danish Radio BigBand and many more. Artur Tuzńik, piano (Poland) Classicaly trained at OSM music-school in Lublin (Poland), Artur graduated from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. Currently a member of its ''solo-class” postgraduate program where he studies with Carsten Dahl. As a bandleader, Tuzńik has been awarded solo and main prizes on a number of international jazz competitions, such as Burghausen (DE), Getxo (ES), Hoeilaart (BE), Jazz-Nad-Odra (PL), Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa (PL). During last few years Artur has toured in Europe with his projects (Quintet, HÅT, Tuzńik/Kądziela 4-tet and Outbreak Quartet). In different projects, he shared the stage with artists like Jeremy Pelt, Tomas Franck, Alex Riel, Anders Mogensen, Jesper Lundgaard, Kresten Osgood, Andreas Lang, Richard Andersson, Claus Waidtløv, Per-Oscar Nilsson, Johny Åman, Tomasz Dąbrowski. Artur has performed in Poland, Denmark, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Latvia and Estonia. Vladimír Micenko, double bas (Slovakia) Born in Košice in 1985. He graduated from Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague (2010) and then took up a study on Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. An exchange program student at the University of North Texas, jazz department (teacher Lynn Seaton) in 2012. At present, Vladimír studies at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen as an Erasmus student. Bands and projects: E Converso, SWOMP, Czech Radio Big Band Concept Art Orchestra with Ed Partyka and Nubox (CD- Six movements of sonification). Vladimír Participated in various music projects during jazz festivals like Bohemia Jazz Fest, Jazz in Bulgaria and Bratislava Jazz Days. Václav Pálka, drums (Czech Republic) Born in Ostrava, Václav is a student of Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, currently studying at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen as an Erasmus student. He cooperates with musicians like the Norwegian trumpeter Didrik Ingvaldsen & NOCZ quartet (latest CD features Iva Bittová), Beata Hlavenková, Tomáš Baroš, Libor Šmoldas and many more ... .
