Sit on the carpet in a circle and explain the game to be played to know each other 1) Holding a ball explain to children when the ball is in their hands, they will have to tell everyone who they are and anything about themselves, e.g. how many brothers and sisters you have/your favourite colour/what do you like doing etc. 2) Start with yourself and roll to another teacher to reinforce game. Ensure ball is thrown to all children. 3) Try to make a comment about what each child says EG I have a brother too, I also like playing football, Maybe you can help me with my drawings since you like art etc.

Help children understand who is Prophet Muhammed (saw).He is part of the 5 Panjataans. He is the last prophet. 1.If the SEN student is unable to think of something about themselves that they want to share out loud, they can whisper it to the teacher/LSA, draw it or the teacher can ask them a specific question (eg, ‘what is your favourite colour?) 2. Display keywords and verbally rehearse with the whole class (eg, ‘Prophet Muhammad + panjatan) 3. Ask the student if they can recall who the panjetan are or prompt them to finish your sentences (eg, Prophet M…., Imam A….)

DIFFERENTIATION How will you cater to student(s) who have Special Educational Needs (SEN)?:

1.Rehearse ‘Bismillah with the SEN children as many times as necessary to enable them to be able to say themselves or to fill in the gaps when the teachers says it (eg, Bismillahir… ar…’) 2.Encourage the SEN student to recall the meaning after rehearsing it a lot and if they cannot recall it themselves then encourage them to fill in your gaps again (eg, In the name of…the most K…., the Most M….’) 3.Ask the SEN student to recall 2 situations when they would say Bismillah. If they are struggling with this, Take them on a walking tour and act out starting different things and saying bismillah (walking into a building, driving off in a car, climbing stairs, eating lunch).

Supplies needed:

You need heavy objects e.g a jumbo packet of pampers or bag of rice (5kg)

You need light objects e.g small pack of Pampers or small bag of rice

Use your Muscles: Tell the children that we are going to see how many of them are strong.

Give the children to take turns to lift a heavy object and then a light object.

Say to the children that the small bag is light and very easy to lift it ,but the jumbo pack /bag is very heavy and difficult to lift.

Then tell the children that the tells us that Allah (SWT) is the strongest, stronger than me, stronger then you ,stronger than anyone. And he is the most powerful. He can do anything.

Thin sheets of Paper (notebook, Printer or Newspaper).

Multiple sheets of Paper folded up.

Give children a single sheet of paper and instruct them to use their muscles to rip up the paper! Then give the children multiple sheets of paper folded up and instruct them to try and rip the paper.(must be lots of paper where it becomes difficult to tear)

Say to them: Even with all your muscles , you are not strong enough. Allah (SWT) is strong enough and he is most powerful. He is in control of everything and can do anything.

What is Powerful?

Supplies: Pictures of train, boat, lion, baby, kitten, fish.

Say to them: I have pictures for you to see! This is a train (Hold up the picture)> Train are powerful ( show Muscles). Can you help me with these other pictures?(Hold up picture of a Kitten) Is this Kitten powerful? (No! kittens are not powerful) . Is this Boat powerful?(Yes! Boats are powerful.) Is this Baby powerful? (No! babies are not powerful. Etc

Say to the children: Allah is more powerful than a train! Allah is More powerful than a boat ! Allah is more powerful than a lion! He is in control of everything and he can do anything.

What can you and the children do?

Ask the children : What can you do? Can you fly an Aeroplane? ( do action of flying) Can you jump like a frog? ( do a jumping action) .Can you spin in a circle?( do action)

What can Allah do? Allah can do anything! Allah brings the sun up each day! Allah makes it rain and snow! Allah keeps the Birds in the Air! Allah can lift the heaviest mountain and move the biggest sea! Allah sees everything ! Allah hears us when we pray! Allah lets us Breathe! Allah is in control of everything and he can do anything! He is most powerful.

Say and Do: Allah is the most powerful. Even the wind and water obey him! I want everyone to get onto our boat! We are going to pretend there is a big storm. Our boat begins to rock as the wind blows hard (begin rocking and making wind sounds.) The wind gets more and more powerful (rock harder and make louder wind sounds.) The water is coming into our boat (spray them with water).Oh no ! we are in a storm. Storms are powerful! Stop wind stop!!!! Only Allah can stop the wind! Allah is powerful! 2. Angels do different things e.g worship Allah, bringing messages etc.

3. Each one of us has two angels with us always, one sitting on each shoulder – Raqeeb and Ateed. They write down our good and bad deeds. 4. Know the names of 12 months in the Islamic Calendar

ACTIVITY: 1) Sit on the carpet in a circle 2) Introduce dua for before starting a lesson then start the lesson 3) Recap last weeks lesson 4) Ask the children who created the angels and whether we can see them. 5) Though we can’t see them, what do they look like – listen to their ideas. 6) Discuss the various tasks that the angels do e.g worship allah (swt), bringing messages and giving us our daily necessities such as food etc. 7) Talk about raqeeb and ateed and what they do – ask them to give examples of things they would write down i.e good and bad deeds. 8) Produce a hanging Angel – use cotton wool for the wings and decorate the rest of the angel with colours, jewels etc. Write ‘Raqeeb’ and ‘Ateed’ on the Angel. 1. Muslim way of saying thank you is “Jazakallah” 2. What does it mean 3. Know the names of 12 months of Islam.

Before/after teaching the students about the topic what activity will you have? How will you keep the students engaged?

ACTIVITY: 1) Sit on the carpet in a circle 2) Introduce dua for before starting a lesson then start the lesson 3) Recap last week’s lesson and revise on the 12 months of Islam. 4) Does anyone know what we should say to someone who helps us or gives us anything? 5) Listen to their ideas and different reasons one would say thank you. 6) Explain using manual notes page 86 7) Activity 1 : is a role play: to ask students to imagine they are in situations in which they will probably need to thank people, e.g. thanking friends for sharing colours, teachers for teaching them, when mum cooks for you, grandparents for reading you a storybook. Making these realistic is obviously useful, but you can also make them more fun by adding some more unlikely ones like “Thank your siblings for sharing toys, playing with you and parents for loving and caring for you”. 8) Explain to them that we should something special or give something special to these people to say a big “Jazakallah” . 9) To show how thankful you are to these people make a special certificate for anyone you want to say a big “Jazakallah”. In the certificate draw a picture for what they do for you which makes you say a big Jazakallah. 10) Finish the lesson with dua for after lesson.
