Dear Open House Registrant:

We have received your registration for our Transfer Students Open House and we are looking forward to your visit on Friday, March 19, 2010.

Thank you for using our electronic confirmation. Enclosed you will find a campus map, tentative schedule, visitor parking permit, and directions to RIT. When you arrive on campus, please display your parking permit on the dashboard of your vehicle and follow the signs to Parking Lot D. Check-In will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. in the Student- Alumni Union (Building 4 on your campus map). A light continental breakfast will be served during Check-In and Admissions representatives will be on hand to help you plan your day. The Opening Session will be held in Ingle Auditorium in the Student-Alumni Union (Building 4) starting at 9:00 a.m.

Academic department meetings will follow the Opening Session from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you would like to have lunch while on campus, we recommend Gracie’s Dining Hall in Grace Watson Hall (Building 25 on your campus map). Gracie’s is an all-you-can eat facility with lunch available for $7.75 per person. Afternoon activities include a financial aid presentation, campus and residence hall tours, RIT apartment tours, and the opportunity to meet individually with an Admissions representative. A full schedule of the day’s events will be provided at Check-In.

If you bring a portfolio with you on March 19th you will have the opportunity to have it during the morning academic meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Representatives from The Schools of Art, Design, American Crafts, and Photography will be on hand to conduct the portfolio reviews. Please note that portfolios are not required for the Schools of Print Media or Film & Animation.

Students attending the Transfer Open House are also welcome to participate in our Instant Application Review from 12 noon – 3:00 p.m. in the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Interested students will be able to discuss admissibility to their program of interest and receive an estimate of merit scholarship funding. In order to participate, we will need a completed RIT application, including sealed official college transcripts and an approved portfolio evaluation (Art, Design, Crafts, and Photography applicants only). We will be unable to provide this service for students applying to ASL-English Interpretation, Film & Animation, Game Design & Development, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and the Physician Assistant program due to the limited space available in these programs.

Please contact the Admissions Office if you need any assistance planning your visit. We hope you enjoy your day!

Sincerely,
