NOTICE OF RACE

Organising authority: Royal Norwegian Yacht Club in cooperation with Bærum Yacht Club 1 RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of .

1.2 The Norwegian Sailing Federation's general and special rules for Norwegian Cup will apply.

1.3 Appendix P will apply with changes as described in Section 10.

1.4 Racing Rule 40 will be changed so that competitors shall wear personal flotation devices at all times while afloat without flag 'Y' displayed. This rule change will not apply for the RS:X class.

1.5 For the Zoom 8 class only, Racing Rule 42 will be changed to allow pumping, rocking and ooching when flag 'O' is displayed.

1.6 Racing rule 63.7 will be changed as follows: If there is as conflict between a rule in the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions then the rule in the Sailing Instructions will take precedence. The changes will appear in full in the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions may also change other racing rules.

2 ADVERTISING

2.1 Advertising is permitted in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20 and the Norwegian Sailing Federation regulations on advertising and sponsorship.

2.2 may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the classes: 29er, Europe, RS-Feva, Zoom 8, , Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, BIC T293 RS:X and Formula Boards.

3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the on-line form and paying the required entry fee at http://www.kns.no by Friday 29th August 2014.

3.3 Late entries will be accepted until 4th September 2014 and are subject to an additional fee. 4 FEES

4.1 Required fees are as follows:

4.2 The late entry fee is NOK 200

5 SINGLE SET OF SERIES The regatta will consist of a single set of series

6 SCHEDULE

7 MEASUREMENTS

Each shall produce a self-declaration of compliance with class rules on the form approved by the respective class clubs. Measurement and inspection of equipment may be made throughout the Regatta at the discretion of the Race Committee.

8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The sailing instructions will be available at Registration.

9 VENUE

Attachment 1 shows the locations of the regatta harbours and racing areas.

10 PENALTY SYSTEM

10.1 Appendix P will apply.

10.2 Rule P2.3 will not apply and rule P2.2 is changed so that it will apply to any penalty after the first one.

10.3 For the 29er and RS-Feva classes rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two- Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. 11 SCORING

11.1 Two (2) races are required to be completed to constitute a series.

11.2 For the 29er class:

a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. b) When from 5 to 8 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. c) When 9 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.

For all the other classes:

d) When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. e) When from 4 to 6 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

12 SUPPORT BOATS

Support boats shall be marked as required by the race committee.

13 RADIO COMMUNICATION

Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

14 PRIZES

Prizes will be given as follows: One third of boats in each class will be awarded a prize

15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 16 INSURANCE

Norwegian competitors and participating boats registered in shall have a current licence issued by the Norwegian Sailing Federation and comply with NSF licence rules. Other participating boats shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of EUR 500 000 per incident or the equivalent.
