SUPER BOWL LV COMMUNITY EVENTS TO MAKE POSITIVE IMPACT IN TAMPA BAY REGION

THROUGH VIRTUAL AND PHYSICALLY-DISTANCED IN-PERSON EVENTS, EFFORTS FOCUS ON SOCIAL JUSTICE, SUSTAINABILITY, THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER, YOUTH WELLNESS, MILITARY APPRECIATION, AMONG OTHERS

NEW YORK – LV will look different than previous years due to changes brought forth from COVID-19 safety protocols, but the NFL will continue to impact the Tampa Bay community in positive ways in coordination with CDC guidelines. In the weeks preceding the game, more than 20 charitable activities and community outreach events will enrich the community and provide lasting legacies.

Super Bowl Week activities include community projects made possible by NFL Foundation Super Bowl Legacy Grants and the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee, community greening projects, a Salute to Service event at MacDill Air Force Base, a virtual NFL PLAY 60 Kids Day and the announcement of the annual Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide winner.

The NFL and Feeding Tampa Bay (FTB) partnered to create ‘Huddle to Tackle Hunger,” a Super Bowl LV initiative to combat food insecurity in the region, an issue that has been exacerbated by the pandemic. As a part of this program, the NFL Foundation made a $250,000 donation to FTB to both assist in supporting local restaurants that have been significantly affected by COVID-19 and provide meals to those that need it most. The program will run for 44 weeks following Super Bowl LV. In addition, the NFL and FTB have launched a volunteer sweepstakes for a chance to attend Super Bowl LV that closes February 3 and will host two volunteer events to encourage local residents to sign up to volunteer with FTB to help fight hunger within their community.

A $2 million investment was also made by the NFL Foundation and the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee as part of the “Forever 55” social legacy initiative that focuses on pillars that best reflect the needs of the Tampa community: early childhood education, food insecurity, families, health and wellness, sustainability and social justice. Together, the NFL and the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee, alongside community and civic partners, will collaborate in an intentional and strategic way to create, support and implement long-lasting initiatives throughout Tampa Bay.

During the week, the NFL will conduct volunteer events at local domestic violence shelters and sexual assault survivor organizations, including The Spring of Tampa Bay and the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. The league is also working with the Hillsborough County Commission on Human Trafficking and the Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative, providing financial grants to address those issues in the Tampa area.

The youth and high school football community will be celebrated throughout Super Bowl LV. Student-athletes and coaches will have the opportunity to enhance their football skills and learn the values associated with the game.

The following are just some of the ways the NFL and Super Bowl LV will positively impact the Tampa Bay community in compliance with both local and CDC health and safety guidelines.

NFL GREEN The NFL, the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have teamed up to develop a series of initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of Super Bowl LV and create a “green” legacy in the Tampa Bay area. The focus has been on beautifying and revitalizing coastal areas and public spaces around Tampa Bay. Community Greening: A dozen community greening projects have been developed in partnership with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, NFL partners Verizon, Oikos Triple Zero, Castrol®, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the

8 Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee Sustainability Program presented by Tampa Electric under its Forever 55 social legacy initiative. Force Blue / Dive 55: NFL Green teamed up with Force Blue retired special operations military veterans, Pepsi Stronger Together and the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee to tackle ocean debris, bringing together 55 divers to retrieve marine debris and discarded fishing gear from the waters near Spanish Rocks Reef in Anna Maria, . In addition, NFL Green is working with Force Blue special operations military veterans, the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, and The Florida Aquarium to continue restoring a section of Florida’s endangered coral reef by planting corals that are resilient in the face of a changing climate.

Super Kids-Super Sharing: In December, community partners teamed up with the , Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a Super Bowl project that put 4,500 books, pieces of sports equipment, school supplies and games in the hands of local children. The project, called Super Kids-Super Sharing, has been implemented in every Super Bowl host community for the past 22 years.

Green and Win: A unique fan engagement project was created this year called “Green and Win.” This project gave fans a chance to win a unique Super Bowl hat by posting on social media. Fans were asked to post a photo showing themselves involved in an environmental activity such as recycling, tree planting, a beach clean-up or gardening. One hundred lucky fans were awarded Super Bowl LV hats and a chance to be recognized on NFL social media.

Other NFL Green projects include:

Green Energy: “Green” energy will be used to power major Super Bowl event venues including Raymond James Stadium, the AFC and NFC team hotels, and the NFL headquarters hotel. Renewable energy certificates (RECs) equivalent to the electricity usage at these facilities will help to mitigate the climate impact of energy emissions.

Food recovery: Excess food from Super Bowl events will be recovered in partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay to provide meals for shelters, missions, soup kitchens and other community programs.

Material Recovery: Recovery of event materials will begin immediately after most Super Bowl events. During the week following the game, there will be an intensive drive to collect and donate items left over from Super Bowl including building materials, décor, fabric, carpeting and sign materials. In partnership with The Salvation Army, these items will be donated to local organizations that can reuse, repurpose or remanufacture the material. The NFL has incorporated environmental projects into the management of Super Bowl for more than 25 years.
