Delta State lost game one of the series in a hard fought contest only to let the game slip away Feb. 21 Christian Brothers* 3:00 pm Feb. 22 Christian Brothers* (DH) 12:00 pm in the final inning by a score of 7-5. The Green and White dropped the next two games against the Chargers with scores of 21-7 on Saturday Feb. 29 @West Florida* (DH) 1:00 pm and on Sunday, 9-1. The Lady Statesmen will host their first home games of the year this weekend. Christian Brothers will come to Mar.1 @ West Florida* 1:00 pm Cleveland to continue Gulf South Conference play. Mar. 6 Auburn-Montgomery* 5:00 pm R OPPONENTS: Christian Brothers has a record of 5-6. The Buccaneers opened the season losing their first two games but then won the Mar. 7 Auburn-Montgomery * (DH) 12:00 pm next two games. CBU also competed in the McGhee-Hawkins Invitational. While there, they again had two wins and two loses. The Bucs Mar. 10 Arkansas Monticello* (DH) 1:00 pm opened GSC play traveling to Auburn-Montgomery last week. Christian Brothers lost both games on Saturday by scores of 10-0 and 9-2. Mar. 13 @ West Alabama 6:00 pm Mar. 14 @ West Alabama* 1:00 pm They picked up a win on Sunday with a score of 2-1. Mar. 20 @ Union University* 5:00 pm R NEWCOMERS MAKING AN IMPACT FOR LADY STATESMEN: Alyssa Gover had an outstanding weekend, finishing with a .556 batting Mar. 21 @Union University* (DH) 1:00 pm average with two RBI, one double, and one home run. Julie Scheuermann also had a great weekend hitting .429 with three RBI, and one Mar. 28 Shorter University * (DH) 2:00 pm home run as well. Haley Simpson posted a .250 batting average with two doubles. Mary Sweatt finished the weekend with a .250 average. Mar. 29 Shorter University* 12:00 pm All four freshman ladies drew starts in all three of the games over the weekend. April 4 @Valdosta State * (DH) 1:00 pm R IN THE CIRCLE: : Olivia Burns had a tough weekend going 0-2. Burns finished the weekend with five walks and only four strikeouts. April 10 Lee University * (DH) 1:00 pm April 11 Lee University * 12:00 pm R EXPERIENCE IN THE INFIELD: Taylor Picou had the best weekend for the Green and White with a .714 batting average while also driving in April 20 @Georgia College & State (DH) 1:00 pm three runs. Picou leads the team in batting this season with an .345 average. Six Lady Statesmen finished the past weekend with a fielding April 21 @Miles College (DH) 1:00 pm percentage of 1.000.
