3. NEEDS: # Agenda Items Discussion Action Point \ Decision A Mosul response  Updating the cluster partners about the Mosul Chamchamal camp: response and the issue of Mosul response in Suli. The outcome of the discussion regarding Chamchamal camp: Suli will be in plan B for Mosul response plan, it had been suggested to reduce the capacity of the camp from 5,000 plots to 2,500 plots, and the minister agreed on that request. In a brief they asked a support from UN agencies to construct Chamchamal camp with capacity 2,500 plots, and MoDM will only provide tents, and the camp will remain as a plan B to relocate IDPs from Mosul.

C IDP school’s needs. - Barznja School Using some prefabs as a school - MOE visited the camp and recommended to move the students classroom. from the school building to some prefabs inside the camp.

- JCC responded on the request of the cluster and they mentioned that we cannot use the prefabs as school classrooms, and they may move IDPs from another camps to Barznja camp. JCC refused to provide 8 tenets for school. - Acton point: OCHA to discuss with JCC about this issue.

E Reporting - OCHA change the date of JCC reporting. Regarding the monthly report, as agreed in the last ICCG meeting the submission of monthly inputs to JCCC is 5th of every month.

4. RESPONSE # Agenda Items Discussion Action Point \ Decision 1 UNICEF:

 The transportation of the Syrian refugee students are still ongoing, UNICEF supporting 44 buses to transport the 1180 refugee students in 9 schools in Suli.  Providing the incentive of 175 Syrian refugee teachers and 36 non-teaching staff in nine Syrian refugee schools.  Providing 4 tents with dimension 72 m2 and concreate the base in Al-Wand2 camp school in , to accommodate all children and solve the issue of lack of space.  Fencing the both schools in Tazade camp in Garmian with providing the gates to both schools.  The process of repairing 7,950 student desks is still ongoing.  Five of the 6 unfinished schools finished by UNICEF and handed over to DoE now two schools are using by refugees and 3 schools are using by IDPs plus the host community students.  Providing the stationeries to 2,960 students in IDP non-camp schools.  Providing the transportation for 150 IDP teachers to solve the issue of lack in teaching staff in IDP camps, the total number of beneficiaries are 5,471 IDP students in 7 camp schools.  After the heavy rain and flooding Arbat camp school, UNICEF education section by coordination with WASH section our WASH IP Qandil cleaned the school.  UNICEF distributed winterization materials (Raincoats, Fire Extinguisher and Kerosene Heater) to Refugee schools in Suli.  UNICEF provided 1,267 Uniform clothes for 5 Syrian Refugee schools. 2 UNHCR :  Providing Kerosene for 72 IDP schools in Khanaqin and Garmian, 500 Ltr for each school in camps and non-camp area. 3 UNESCO:  Provided 8 caravans to Ta'ayesh secondary school for boys in Ashiti camp to replace the tents. 4 UPP: -  UPP buses brought 210 children to Kobani School  149 teenagers (87 boys + 62 girls, divided in 4 groups) have attended the non-formal education activities in UPP/Al Mesalla YFS in Arbat Refugee Camp (2 shifts each afternoon)  383 students (161 boys + 222 girls) in Amouda School and 59 students (24 boys + 35 girls) in Berkhwedan school, 2 hours for four classes every morning, have attended the non-formal education activities in UPP/Al Mesalla directly in their schoolclasses

Education Cluster Meeting Minutes 4  On 6th, 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th December 57 teachers from Berkhwedan, Amouda 1 and 2 Schools, 44 from Kobani, Gri Spi and Gri Spi 2 and 8 UPP/Al Mesalla staff from Arbat Refugee Camp YFS attended a PSS training organized by UPP 5 REACH: Total number of beneficiaries 812 had participated in Bazian , Banjan and Rapareen community centers from different target groups refugee, IDP and host community for psychosocial support , catch up training, languages , sport activities for social cohesion and improving their skills, reintegration and rehabilitation, this term host community participants was more than before because host community schools was closed but refugee and IDP schools were opened :

 PSS activities for children and youth for social cohesion between different groups IDP, refugee and host community.  Activities for children in child friendly spaces in Bazian and Bainjan.  Computer training in community centers.  Art activity.  Music training.  Sport activities (ping pong and tennis).  English training from different target groups.  IDP students participated in catch up and study support in Bazian community center.  Sorani (Kurdish) training.  Children participated in kindergarten activities in3 community center.  Children participated in Arabic language training.  Case management 6 QANDIL: 1- Preparation for the 4th PTA meeting until the second week of December 4th PTA meeting took place in Grespi intermediate school and Kobani basic school on December 7th, Sarikany basic school and Afrin basic school on December 8th and Amooda primary & secondary school on December 15th. 2- Going-Back-to-School- Campaign: Distribution of 244 bags, stationary, T-shirts and tooth brush for the 1st grade students in the schools of Mam in Rania 64 bags, Qaladze 10 bags while the remaining 170 bags handed over to STEP. 3- Preparation of educational materials and stationaries such as educational posters for (Arabic, English, Science and Math), Geographical maps, Marker and Rubber, Human body parts, Math toys, English alphabet and numbers puzzles and Science puzzles , A4 papers, Pen, Stapler, Staple Tape, Tape dispenser, Speaker and mixer, Painter and paint books during the second week of December then distributed in the third week of December in Grespi intermediate school, Kobani primary school, Afren basic school, Sari kany basic school and Amooda primary and secondary school. 7 IRC: 1- First Teacher Learning Cycle (TLC) activity in Kamel Basir school 12 teachers. 2- Second Teacher Learning Cycle (TLC) activity in Amouda school 15 teachers 3- Second Teacher Learning Cycle (TLC) activity in Sari Kani school 12 teachers 4- Second Teacher Learning Cycle (TLC) activity in Afrin school 12 teachers 5- Second Teacher Learning Cycle (TLC) activity in Kobani school 12 teachers Choosing 5 tutors from refugee community after shortlisting and interviewing 10 candidates for Tutor activity

1. Renovation of 4 schools - Aria, Qamchugha, Shahid Abdulrahman schools in Dokan and Kany Sard school in . - Dec: Selection of contractor

2. School Health Program (SHP) - Health screening (eye, ENT, skin, dentistry), treatment and provision of items (anti lice shampoo, correction glasses, etc.), and health awareness session with DoH school health unit. - Targeting schools in Arbat Refugee camp (grade 1 only), Arbat and Ashti IDP camps (grade 1-9). - Nov: finished in Arbat Refugee camp - Nov-Dec: almost finished in Arbat IDP camp + started Ashti IDP camp 8 Mercy Corps: Advancing Adolescence Program is continuing to work in the same communities (Bazyan & Baijan) and partner with the same schools (Sarikian, Akha, Afreen and Halgurd) for the 2nd year:

1. By 4th December 2016, 1st cycle of program activities has been launched and Activities implemented in schools are: Regular intensive sessions (twice a week and 8 weeks in total) Life skills and Entalik sessions Irregular sessions: including info sessions for parents and youth and drop in sessions for youth (weekly and bi-weekly). 2. By the month of January 2017, more activities will be launched including: 8 Youth led events: Community projects that will designed, organized and implemented by the youth. 8 Filed Trips: are arranged to increase access of the youth members to governmental and other available services in the community such as resources including healthcare facilities, banks and etc. 9 STEP: STEP distributed 103 school bags among refugee students in Sully area.
