Jay is the author of Working the Water, a book of dramatic photos from all over the Chesapeake. This event will draw many non-members who share our passion for the water, so please welcome them and talk up the benefits of membership in FBYC. Additionally, the Bermuda High Party is just around the corner. This year’s event will be hosted at Veronica and David Hinckle’s house on March 24. We look forward to a great turn out and to reconnecting with everyone as we prepare for the coming warmer weather. Volunteer involvement is not only what runs our Club, but VOLUNTEERING AT FBYC – it is the root of what makes the culture of our Club so unique. As a member of the Club, everyone is expected to serve IT’S WHO WE ARE! two days in a volunteer capacity. However, it is not about Happy New Year! Your board has been busy preparing fulfilling a requirement. It is about being part of the team and for the coming sailing season. The annual Yearbook culture of FBYC. As with most volunteer organizations, we composition process is well underway. The Junior Program sometimes fall into the 80/20 trap, 80% of the work done sign-ups opened up on February 1st. All the while, offseason by 20% of the people. My hope is that going forward we maintenance, repairs, and improvements to our boats can increase the number of volunteers around the club and and facilities are underway.

Designed and built by the Stephens Brothers of Stockton, VIP is number 7 of 19 Farallon Clippers, built between 1940 and 1962. The yard built her shortly after WWII as a gift to one of the Stephens Brothers, Theo, the Very Important Person. Some 55 years later Don Taylor, visiting friends for dinner, is sharing their coffee table book of all the beautiful wooden boats built by the Stephens boats when he found himself constantly flipping back to a photo of the 38’ Farallon Clipper.
