The EAFF is a non-political, not-for-profit, democratic, regional umbrella network of smallholder farmers of Eastern Africa. Its membership is voluntary and it currently comprises national farmer federations, women organizations, commodity associations, co- operatives and advocacy-based organizations that are apex in nature. The EAFF is in ten (10) countries spread over East Africa Community (EAC) and the Horn of Africa (some COMESA members)– i.e. Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti; south Sudan and DR Congo (Kivu region) and has by association, a gross membership of over 20 million active farmers.
