Public Consultation

Submissions welcome for Civic Precinct In February 2020, Council endorsed a ‘wish list’ of projects and resolved to undertake planning and design work so the projects would be ‘shovel ready’ in the event of grant funding opportunities. One of these projects is a Civic Precinct, which would include a new library, community rooms and exhibition spaces, long term Government tenants and the retention of Crago Mill among other elements. Council is keen to understand if the elements for inclusion in the Civic Precinct meet community needs and expectations. At its December 2020 Council meeting, Council resolved to ask the community for further feedback regarding the preferred location for the Civic Precinct. Submissions about the location are particularly sought for the continued use of Council’s current location in Comur Street, Yass, or, alternatively, another site that will meet Council and community needs in the long term. Community members are invited to make a submission on the proposed location and scope of works.
