The new home of the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, the Keller Center marks the rebirth of an iconic modernist building on campus. Originally designed by the architect of Radio City Music Hall and , local architecture firm Farr Associates led the $80 million restoration. New windows soften the imposing stone building, a reconfigured atrium creates a more memorable arrival, and a grand staircase constructed of trees felled by the emerald ash borer is an imaginative new social and study hub. Other energy-saving adaptations give the Keller Center a shot at LEED Platinum certification, the first such building on campus.
