Pour ce quinzième anniversaire, la course fera escale en Drôme, Vaucluse, Lozère et Ardèche. Nul doute que la bataille va faire rage tout au long de ces kilomètres escarpés de nos merveilleux départements. La beauté et l'intensité de notre épreuve ne doivent pas faire oublier la triste réalité du cyclisme féminin en France. En cette année néfaste où pas moins de trois épreuves internationales disparaissent du calendrier UCI, il est bien difficile de se réjouir, puisque le tour de Bretagne, la route de France et les trophées d'or viennent de tirer leur révérence. Le TCFIA est hélas la dernière course féminine internationale par étapes de l'hexagone. Le problème est donc bien réel et spécifique à notre pays, car dans le même temps les autres pays progressent. Je voudrais rendre hommage ici à nos partenaires fidèles et enthousiastes qui nous permettent de garder la tête hors de l'eau, aux élus de nos départements qui œuvrent et travaillent d'arrache- pied à nos côtés. Mais nous ne pourrons subsister sans l'aide de notre fédération de tutelle qui malgré les beaux et longs discours devant les médias n'a jusqu'à présent apporté aucun soutien aux féminines. La venue récente à la tête de la FFC de MICHEL CALOT, ancien cycliste issu de Rhône-Alpes, homme de conviction et de parole, devrait apporter un bol d'oxygène pour toutes ces dames et demoiselles qui de par leurs performances méritent le plus grand respect et la plus grande attention. Est-ce-que l'élection de MICHEL CALOT est un signe du destin, à un moment très critique pour le cyclisme féminin ? Les discussions commencées et qui vont se poursuivre en 2018, nous apporteront les réponses. Sache MICHEL que tu es, pour notre sport féminin la dernière planche de salut BONNES PÉDALÉES A TOUTES. Breathing the Belgium air again to me is a feeling of freedom. I will live here and I will suffer greatly here but this is where some of my dreams will come true. I have learned the past year that life can be very difficult at times but if you continue to dream and continue to follow your dreams your future will fall into place on its own. Everything in life takes time and everything in life takes working for. You can't just be a European pro over night, but with a lot of work and a little luck things will go your way and that is the same with most things in life, especially with relationships. This past weekend I had my first races back in Europe this year. Since the US National team only sent me and another junior, Keith Norris, over they are having us combine to race on a Belgium team called Think Media Cycling. It was sweet because they gave me so much riding clothes and casual wear clothes. On Saturday the 13th I raced in a 120k road race with some 1k climbs in it. Since these races are for us to get ready for the Worlds in October I raced really hard and aggressive.
