Registration Information Are You New To Hockey In Edmonton? Hockey Edmonton has twenty-six associations across the city, each with their own established boundaries that offer hockey programs in various divisions and tiers of play. Your MHA will depend on your residential address and can be verified for you by the various association Registrars. Along with their respective websites the Registrars have a wealth of available program information, fees, requirements, etc. Divisions of Play AGE DIVISION (as of December 31 of the Current Season) INITIATION 4, 5 & 6 years of age NOVICE 7 & 8 year olds ATOM 9 & 10 year olds PEEWEE 11 & 12 year olds BANTAM 13 & 14 year olds MIDGET 15, 16 & 17 year olds JUNIOR 18, 19 & 20 year olds JUNIOR FEMALE 18, 19, 20 & 21 year olds What organization do I register with? Generally, a player’s residence as of September 1st of the hockey season will determine where the player registers. The associations Registrars can help you verify this. In addition, the respective websites have a wealth of program information on fees, requirements, etc. Hockey Edmonton is divided into geographic Districts, each of which have one or more Operating Areas that program for Edmonton youth – male and female. DND personnel residing in districts other than Northeast must register in the district where they reside. The communities are: Allard, Allendale, Aspen Gardens, Bearspaw, Belgravia, Blackburne, Blackmud Creek, Blue Quill, Blue Quill Estates, Callaghan, Chappelle, Desrochers (Village at), Duggan, Empire Park, Ermineskin, Garneau, Grandview Heights, Graydon Hill, Greenfield, Heritage Valley, Jagre Ridge, Keheewin, Lansdowne, Lendrum, MacEwan, Malmo, McKernan, Paisley, Parkallen, Pleasantview, Queen Alexandra, Richford, Rideau Park, Royal Gardens, Rutherford, Rutherford Heights, Skyrattler, Southbrook, Steinhauer, Strathcona, Sweet Grass, Twin Brooks, Westbrook Estates, Windsor Park, and Yellowbird. Southeast District South of the North Saskatchewan River and East of the CPR railroad tracks Exclusive of the community Scona Centre Millwoods services the communities of: Burnewood, Ellerslie, Fulton Meadows. Knottwood, Lakewood, Leefield, Millhurst, North Millbourne, Ridgewood, Southwood, Summerside, The Meadows, and Woodvale. North Seera services the area that is south of the North Saskatchewan River, east of the C.P.R. railroad tracks along 103 Street and North of 51st Avenue. Communities include: Argyll, Avonmore, Bonnie Doon, Capilano, Cloverdale, Forest Heights/Terrace Heights, Fulton Place, Gold Bar, Hazeldean, Holyrood, Idylwylde, Kenilworth, King Edward Park, Ottewell, Ritchie, Strathearn and Twin Parks. Knights of Columbus Hockey Association Operates hockey programs for male and females on a city wide basis. KC Hockey operate both a House and Rep programs. Recreational Hockey League Operates teams that play one game a week in Bantam and Midget for all city residents. Registration All new registrants: • have the choice of registering with the District / Operating Area in which they reside OR registering with the Knights of Columbus, Edmonton Girls Hockey Association or Recreational Hockey League. • will need to: 1. Provide a copy of your child's birth certificate and/or passport. 2. Provide proof of residency A Parent Declaration, and A utility bill with your name and current address on it. 3. Have at least one parent complete the Respect In Sport program Most of our association have online registration process that are well documented on their website.
