Kennst Du Ein Video by von Ted Barrus, Dunn Kennst du Alle ... Hey guys! Just head up: The related offer is already a little older, and the price of the gadget may have changed or it may not be available anymore. Do you like sharpness, but Tabasco, Sambal-Ileka, Habanero and Piri Piri are no longer enough for you? Do you want to cry again? How about the hottest, freely available chili variety in the world so far: Carolina Reaper! The second hottest chili in the world has the attractive name Caroline Reaper and comes with a neatly high cost Scoville. For those of you who wonder: Sco-what? In Scoville - SCU for short - the degree of sharpness in pepper plants - which also include chillies - is measured. While measurement used to be purely subjective, the proportion of capsaicinoids in the plant is now measured. Capsaicinoid alkaloids that have one effect on the human body: They stimulate heat and pain receptors in the body, so we feel the heat. Sweet Pepper 0-10 SCU Pepper 100-500 SCU Tabasco 2.500-5.000 SCU Jalape'os 2,500- 8,000 SCU Cayenne Pepper 30.000-50.000 SCU Pepper Spray 180.000-300.00 SCU Now, SCU when you have an approximate overview of the varieties and foods many of us come into contact with in our daily lives - except for pepper spray, I hope - what do you think Carolina's chilli reaper is? 600,000 SCU, making it about twice as hot as pepper spray? 1,000,000 SCU, about 10,000 times hot as pepper? Unfortunately you are just as wrong as all those who are already planning their next Chili Con Carne, or a bottle of Mexican sauce that should literally knock down their friends. Carolina Reaper chili is about 2,000,000 SCU, which is about ten times more than pepper spray. It has only surpassed the HP48 Death Strain, which is not yet freely available. But please don't overestimate yourself as much as your colleague in the video? (Spoiler alert: Nothing for sensitive people) For the gadget No matter what you do, someone will goat trump you, including breeding the hottest pepper in the world. It looks like the guy who brought out the previous record holder, Caroline Reaper, got dethroned. However, as luck would have it, Smokin Ed Curry brought them both out; Reaper and Pepper X. Can You even beat Pepper X for being the hottest pepper in the world? I can't imagine why anyone would want to! This is 3 times hotter than any pepper grown in the food market. And having a Scoville rating of more than 3.18 units do it twice the time than Caroline the Reaper. But Ed never intended to breed one hotter than hell pepper. His goal is more of a journey, a breeding of the entire HP series, and his PuckerButt Pepper Company has been working on it for something like 18 years. So it's no surprise to him that he introduced Pepper X to people in the Guinness Book of World Records in September. He worked on unseating Carolina Reaper (HP22B) from the hottest pepper status in the world all together. It was only the first one presented to the public. Chiliheads responded to his blazing taste profile, catapulting him to world fame. But technically, Reaper was already unseated twice as hot pepper in the world. First, Ed announced the release of the HP56 Death Strain pepper in 2015, which boasted a 2.9 million- unit Scoville heat index. I'm not sure what happened to it, because it didn't work out. But there's a lot more to make chiliheads go crazy over pepper than heat, so maybe it just doesn't perform as well as expected in the finished product. Then, in May 2017, a new pepper called Dragon's Breath with a Reaper beating 2.4 million Scovilles materialized in the UK. The Daily Post reported that pepper was created for medical use as an alternative anesthetic. But the next day, the BBC said the breeder was waiting for a Guinness Hot Pepper confirmation record. Interesting. However... While Neil Price in the UK was waiting for the coveted Guinness document, Ed Smokin pulled Pepper X out of his hat. He sent his lab work (several years worth) to Guinness sometime in September. And since Pepper X completely surpasses Dragon's Breath in the heat, Ed is confident he'll get the world's hottest pepper confirmation from Guinness next spring. The world of chilihead is an amazing dog-eating-dog. So much so that a few weeks after Ed's new Guinness presentation blew up through heat-loving media channels, the PuckerButt Pepper Company was robbed. While the location of Ed's growing fields is protected as a national mystery, someone got the wind where Pepper X was in production. They stole whole plants from the field. Are there any suspects? A competitor, of course. And that's the only way anyone else can lay hands on some Pepper X. They have a pretty hard time filling orders for the latest dab pepper sauce from Harvest PuckerButt, not to mention the supply of competitors. But with the bottle selling for $50 on eBay, it's easy to see how tempting it is to ensure a recurring source will be. It's too early in the game for seed availability. But selling a finished product containing Pepper X would be akin to tying the loop of your own executioner. No, it makes more sense that they want plants in search of a record-breaking breeding hawk reserve. And why would anyone steal Carolina Reaper plants while getting seeds isn't hard? But the local newspaper seems The report talks about the prize, the world record of pepper and says nothing to determine the actual plants taken. I think the reporter knows nothing about breeding plants, chili pepper spying, or Pepper X. So while chiliheads everywhere are waiting for the official Guinness conclusion, I thought you'd find Smokin' Ed Curry's way to breeding hot peppers in the world of fun. Always in gardening, he was already growing peppers in the late 80's, and cannabis (long before it was legal in Michigan). He then took up sober-growing peppers for his health in a backyard in South Carolina. His stunning homemade salsa led to a meeting with his wife, and it was her idea that he should turn these delicious creations into business. Why hot peppers? He found that if something protected him from cancer, it makes hot peppers part of his daily diet. Ed Curry has far more than a few hybrids capable of fighting for the coveted title of the world's hottest pepper maker. It has been breeding for high capsaicin and taste for more than 16 years, and its cache of unique hybrids was 426 in 2015, according to the Los Angeles Times. And some of its peppers are getting used to cancer research, showing promise in treating four common types of the disease. Select stores sell all natural PuckerButt Pepper products from Fort Mills, SC to Toronto, Ontario, and ship internationally online. It's more than just hot sauces, ED makes smokin' hot nuts, mustard, jelly, chocolate, and cakes too. They are all super spicy, but not all contain the hottest pepper in the world. Most of them have a signature blend of fiery fruit. Presumably, Pepper X is a temporary name. Why change perfection? Just tack on the official HP serial number and leave its smokin' hot fame intact. On August 7, 2013, Carolina Reaper was officially recognized by Guiness World Records as the hottest chili in the world testing at 1,569,300 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) with an average peak value of 2,200,000 SHU. This new hp56 pepper strain blows that out of the water with a preliminary test of over 3,000,000 SHU! As the reporter describes in the video, THE HP56 has a burn delay that can trick unsuspecting victims into initially thinking that this pepper is not hot at all. For the first 10 seconds you can taste the full flavor of this pepper; warmly kicked and never stops the building. Extreme concentration of HP56 capsaicinoids can lead to unseasonal pepper hallucinations. This pepper has yet to undergo rigorous testing to see if the average SHU actually beat the Carolina Reaper. Stay tuned to PepperHead, see if it turns out to be hot, as claimed. At the moment you just have to settle for the hottest in the world. Take hot pepper seeds, hot pepper plants or pepper powder. It's not called the Pucker Butt Pepper Company for nothing, and it's outdone itself. This ring of fire in South Carolina knocked off the throne two-year-old hot guinness pepper in the world, Carolina Reaper.
