WDI were appointed to complete a two stage design and build fit out of a four storey boutique hotel in Brighton. The project involved a complete fit out of 80 bedrooms including all specialist fixtures, fittings and bespoke bathrooms.

The design scheme was developed by MyHotel owner Andy Thrasyvoulou in collaboration with New York based designer Karim Rashid. The scope of works included a new café, restaurant, bar and meeting rooms as well as three separate shop units. We were asked by the Sleep event organisers to collaborate with Nous Design in the design, development and delivery of the bar space for Sleep 2013. Due to the nature of the show, we were tasked with building a vibrant hub for the award ceremony and numerous networking meetings. The space itself offered a number of challenges: logistically it was difficult in that it backed onto the competition rooms, was 100% freestanding and had to be constructed in 18 hours before the show.

WDI delivered a refurbishment project for Holiday Inn Express. The works included a refurbishment of the existing hotel areas, including 81 bedrooms, front of house area, cafe and bar areas and other supporting facilities. Construction of a 94 bed hotel on a very tight site location. The project included elements of new-build steel and metzac frame with terracotta cladding, and the structural refurbishment of the existing concrete frame. Work also included all associated landscaping and the provision of a carpark.
