Ryans Leroy Moore Susi Begazo-McGourty President/CEO Senior Vice President/COO Senior Vice President/CFO Rental Assistant Demonstration Program Conversion The Tampa Housing Authority has completed the conversion of 2,205 housing units to date, from public housing ACC operating subsidy to long term project based rental assistance through HUD’s Rental Department of Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program. The key benefits for converting to RAD are to preserve existing affordable housing stock with a predictable HUD rental subsidy income, increased access ASSET to private capital for renovations or redevelopment, streamlined administration of HUD programs and improved housing options for all THA residents. The RAD approach is directly tied to the goals MANAGEMENT of the Tampa Housing Authority’s Strategic Plan and promotes organizational sustainability due in part to more stable financing. To further increase efficiencies, the housing authority has adopted an online recertification and rent payment system called Rent Café. Rent Café gives tenants the ability of recertifying their eligibility online, making a rental payment, and placing work orders all online. THA anticipates converting its remaining public housing stock to RAD project based rental assistance by the end of 2022. The mission of the Asset Management Department is to deliver outstanding customer service while providing the best resident experience possible with established quality control initiatives, tracking the resident experience, encouraging resident participation and ensuring that all site operations are consistent. 6 CARES Act Funding The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act also known as the CARES ACT was passed and implemented to address the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States affordable housing stock. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administered funding to Housing Authorities to distribute needed assistance to qualified properties. Six of our communities, which includes the related entities, received such funding. Belmont Heights Estates Phase I, II and III, Gardens at South Bay, Oaks at Riverview, Cedar Pointe Phase I and II and Tempo at Encore are all set to receive funds totaling the sum of $342,339.00. These funds are allocated solely to the 662 ACC units amongst these properties to be utilized in preventing, preparing for and responding to coronavirus related expenses incurred by each of the qualified sites. This supplemental funding equates to about
