PORTSDOWN HILL CAMPSITE TERMS & CONDITIONS (2017) PLEASE READ 1.) Portsdown Hill Campsite located at Fort Wiley, Portsmouth is for tent camping only. Campervans, Motorhomes and Trailer tents are not permitted. Camping tickets must be purchased. 2.) All camping ticket holders must also have a ticket to attend at least one of the Victorious Festival dates at Southsea Common; Friday 25 th , Saturday 26 th or Sunday 27 th August 2017 and show this ticket on entry to the campsite along with their Portsdown Hill campsite ticket. 3.) A Challenge 25 policy will be operating and enforced at the entrance when exchanging tickets for wristbands and across the Portsdown Hill Campsite. If you can’t provide valid identification when asked, you will be asked to leave the site and come back with your ID. So if you are lucky enough to look 25 or younger, please make sure that you bring an acceptable form of identification. Valid forms of ID include: - An in date photographic driver’s license or provisional licence. - A valid passport. - No photocopies and no out of date ID will be accepted . 4.) There are three types of Portsdown Hill Campsite tickets sold: - “Over 18 camping tickets” can only be used by persons age 18 or over. From here on these will be referred to as Adult Camping Tickets . - “5-17 camping tickets” can be used by young people age 5 to 17 years old and can only be purchased by an appropriately aged adult. See Point 7 below. From here on these will be referred to as Young Persons Camping Tickets . - “Under 5 camping ticket” can be used by children under the age of 5 and can only be purchased by an appropriately aged adult. See Point 7 below. From here on these will be referred to as Child Camping Tickets . 5.) By purchasing a Young Persons or Child Camping Ticket you are confirming that you are either the parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian responsible for the young persons or children you are purchasing the ticket for. You must complete the Legal / Responsible Adult Guardian form and bring this with you to the campsite entry point before being allowed to pitch a camp. 6.) Those with a Young Persons or Child Camping Ticket can only enter the campsite with the adult who purchased their ticket, i.e. the parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian. Anyone young person or child attempting to enter the festival campsite without their adult will be denied entry to the campsite and will have to wait at welfare until their parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian collects them. Abuse of this system may result in both being asked to leave Portsdown Hill Campsite and Victorious Festival. 7.) The following are the accompanying rules for those Adult camping ticket holders assuming parental, legal guardian or nominated guardianship responsibility: - Any Adult campsite ticket holder may accompany a maximum of 4 young persons or children - Adults accompanying young persons in their teens must be approximately age 26+ to ensure that all teens are overseen by someone of a responsible age. - Young persons and children must camp with their responsible adult. There will be no teens camping separately away from their adult group. 8.) Portsdown Hill Campsite opening hours : - The campsite will open at 10:00AM on Friday 25 th August and at 07:00AM on Saturday the 26 th and Sunday 27 th August. - The campsite will be closed at 02:00AM on all three nights. Make sure you are back by that time or you will be turned away. - The campsite must be vacated by 02:00PM on Monday 28 th August. 9.) Portsdown Hill car park opening hours and information: - Portsdown Hill Campsite tickets do not include car parking at the campsite car park site adjacent to the campsite. - The car park will open at 10:00AM on Friday 25th August and at 07:00AM on Saturday the 26th and Sunday 27th August - The car park will be closed at 02:00AM on all three nights. Make sure you are back by that time or you will be turned away. - The car park must be vacated by 02:00PM on Monday 28th August. - Car park tickers can be purchased online at www.victoriousfestival.co.uk “buy tickets ” section. Please note these are subject to availability as capacity is limited - so ensure you book in advance. - All tickets MUST be booked by the lead driver & they will be required to show their drivers licence at the gate on arrival along with the PRINTED ticket. - Car parking spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis. Please car share or arrive by taxi. - If you leave the car park, you must purchase a second car park ticket to return and you stand the chance of losing your parking spot. It is strongly recommended that your car remain parked until you are prepared to vacate the campsite. - You are not allowed to sleep in your vehicle in the campsite car park. 10.) Portsdown Hill FREE Camp and Ride shuttle buses to Victorious Festival: - There will be a FREE Camp & Ride shuttle bus operating between the Portsdown Hill campsite and Victorious Festival site. - Your campsite wristband allows you to come and go as many times as you like. - Bus operating times will be 09:00AM – 00:00AM. - The journey takes approx. 20mins one way. 11.) Over 18s with valid ID ( Challenge 25 policy will be in operation ) are allowed to bring a reasonable amount of alcohol into the campsite per adult, as described below: - This is for personal consumption in the campsite ONLY and will not be allowed on the Camp & Ride shuttlebus or brought into the Victorious festival site, where there are several bars available. - A reasonable amount is defined as: 1 crate (24 cans) of beer or cider OR the equivalent of 2 x 70cl bottles of wine OR 1 winebox OR the equivalent of 1 x 70cl bottle of spirits. - Alcohol must be decanted into non-glass containers. - There are NO EXCEPTIONS regarding glass containers. Broken glass can harm children or the livestock who will use the campsite land after you leave. 12.) Please note Portsdown Hill campsite at Fort Widely is on top of Portchester Hill, thus it is on a slight slope. 13.) Victorious Festival and Portsdown Hill Campsite is for nice people and is about having a good time. Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and you will be ejected without refund from the campsite and the festival. 14.) All tickets will be swopped for wristbands on arrival at the entrance to the campsite (subject to Ts and Cs). Once wristbands have been issued and put on tampering, swopping, removal of, etc. will not be tolerated and those found doing so will be asked to leave the Portsdown Hill campsite and Victorious Festival. 15.) Ticket holders may be searched on entry to the campsite and the festival. If you are in possession of illegal substances you may be arrested. 16.) We’re happy for groups to camp near each but we politely ask that people are considerate and not to set up overly- large “camping areas” to ensure everyone has enough room to enjoy the campsite and all have a fair amount of space. 17.) If you are ejected from the Portsdown Hill campsite you will also forfeit your attendance to the main Victorious festival site and vice-versa 18.) Only kitchen knives up to a blade length of 3 inches are allowed onsite for use in cooking (e.g. table knife, small paring knife). Anything that may be deemed a weapon will be confiscated. 19.) Fire safety is important. No campfires, flares, fireworks, Chinese lanterns, naked flames etc. are allowed. Disposable aluminium BBQs are not allowed. Only small purpose built off-the-ground BBQs and camping stoves can be used to cook food but ONLY in designated cooking areas. 20.) Due to onsite sanitary and hygiene considerations, personal portable toilet units are not permitted into the festival site. This is a very important condition of entry and customers attempting to bring in portable toilets will be turned away at the gate. There will be a sufficient number of toilets supplied in the campsite 21.) No pet animals are allowed on the festival campsite other than dogs assisting the visually impaired. 22.) The following items are not permitted at the festival campsite: - Drugs, illegal substances such as NOS/nitrous oxide - Weapons or anything that can be interpreted as a weapon - Chinese lanterns, fireworks, torches or flares - Camping gas canisters above 5kg, - Generators of any kind, - Portable/chemical toilets, - Beanbags - Any glass / glass bottles - Lasers or airhorns - Sound systems 23.) The Portsdown Hill campsite will have a perimeter fence line, wristband entry and security on duty 24 hours a day. Visitors leave their belongings at their own risk. It is advised to leave all valuables at home. 24.) Facilities within the campsite include: toilets, showers, campsite shop with basic supplies, food stalls, a 24 hour security, medical and welfare presence, lighting, cooking areas, rubbish disposal area, mobile phone charging, lockers, etc. Plus next door to the campsite there is a family friendly pub called The Churchillian (http://churchillian.co.uk/) and a famous burger van called Mikes Monster Burgers (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186298-d1009967-r363706866-Mick_s_Monster_Burgers- Portsmouth_Hampshire_England.html ) both are proud to boast exceptional viewing points across Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. 25.) The Portsdown Hill campsite location at Fort Widley on top of Portsdown Hill is a beautiful natural site and we want to keep it that way so please help us by keeping it clean and tidy.
