JHARGRAM RAJ COLLEGE, JHARGRAM, 721507 ADMISSION TO THE TWO-YEAR POST-GRADUATE DEGREE COURSES FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2020-21 AT JHARGRAM RAJ COLLEGE UNDER VIDYASAGAR UNIVERSITY. GENERAL NOTIFICATION / 20.11.2020 Applications are invited for the admission to M. A. in Bengali, M. Sc. in Chemistry and M. Sc. in Zoology At Jhargram Raj College, under Vidyasagar University for the academic session 2020-2021. The applicants will have to fill in the form with the personal details, academic details and upload the scanned copies of all the required documents at the time of application. Considering the COVID- 19 pandemic, application fee has been completely waived off. The eligible applicants are required to fill in the forms for admission to the aforesaid courses with their Percentage (%) of Marks (Part-I, II & III) obtained in UG (Honours) course in annual system. In case of semester system, applicant must fill equivalent percentage of marks corresponding to their CGPA obtained as per the rule fixed by their home institution. Candidates must upload the relevant documents showing official conversion rule (reverse side of the marksheet if conversion rule for CGPA to equivalent percentage is mentioned. Otherwise candidates must upload the official conversion rule for the same along with their marksheet). Candidates are not required to submit any print-out/hardcopy of the filled up online application form. A. in Bengali: 45% marks in Honours (for General candidates) and 40% marks in Honours (for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD candidates). M. Sc. in Chemistry & Zoology: 50% marks in Honours (for General candidates) and 45% marks in Honours (for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD candidates). GENERAL DIRECTION TO THE APPLICANTS FOR ONLINE ADMISSION 1. The process of admission for the academic session of 2020-21 of Jhargram Raj College will be done strictly on online merit-based system. 2. Each applicant must use own e-mail id and personal mobile number at the time of online application. 3. Honours candidates for the current session and the immediately preceding session (2019 and 2018, respectively) are eligible to apply and will be considered equally. 4. 80% of the total seats in each subject will be considered for the students of Vidyasagar University and the remaining 20% will be for Open Competition. 5. The merit list will be prepared in the following manner: - (a) UG (Hons.) final percentage of marks (Part-I, Part-II and Part-III taking together) in case of annual system. OR (b) UG (Hons) equivalent percentage of marks converted from CGPA, in case of semester (CBCS) system. In case of a tie, total marks/percentage of marks of immediately preceding examination (H. S. or equivalent) will be considered for ranking. In case of further tie, the total marks/percentage of marks obtained in the General papers of the B. A. / B. Sc. examination may be considered for ranking. 6. Quota for the SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD will be considered as per Government order 906 Edn/Estt dated 18/09/1997. A fraction of 0.5 or more will be rounded to the next whole number. 7. In case of the non-availability of students of SC category, the seats reserved for SC may be converted to the ST category, and vice versa (vide Item No. (iii) of the Vidyasagar University circular with Ref. No.: VU/PG/186/17, dt. 29.05.2017 from the Secretary, Faculty Council for PG Studies). 8. In case of the non-availability of candidates of the OBC-A category, the seats for OBC-A may be converted to the OBC-B category and vice versa (vide Item No. (iv) of the Vidyasagar University circular with Ref. No.: VU/PG/186/17, dt. 29.05.2017 from the Secretary, Faculty Council for PG Studies). 9. 3% of each category will be reserved for Person with Disability (PwD). Merit list will be prepared on the percentage of PwD. In case of the non-availability of candidates belonging to the Persons with Disability (PwD) category, the seats reserved for the said category will be converted to the General category (vide Item No. (v) of the Vidyasagar University circular with Ref. No.: VU/PG/186/17, dt. 29.05.2017 from the Secretary, Faculty Council for PG Studies). 10. Online provisional admission will be done based on the merit list and category wise availability of seats published through the PG admission portal of our college. 11. Counselling for admission to these courses will be held first for the 80% category followed by counselling of the 20% category. The students of Vidyasagar University are eligible to apply for both 80% and 20% category seats whereas the students of other universities and autonomous colleges become eligible to fill up the application forms for admission to the Post-Graduate courses under 20% category only. 13. SC/ST candidates must have 75% of the marks obtained by the last candidate of the General category as qualifying marks. OBC-A/OBC-B candidates must have 90% of the marks obtained by the last candidate of the General category as qualifying marks. Candidates with lower marks will not be considered for admission even if the seats remain vacant in respective categories. (As per Memo No. 66-Edn(U)/1U-89/13 dated 16.01.2014 of the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal). 14. If any applicant enlisted in any merit list does not take admission and make the e-payment within the scheduled time span, no further chance of admission can be given to him/her. 15. All the provisionally admitted candidates are required to produce all the originals of uploaded Certificates, Mark Sheets and testimonials at the time of physical verification of documents. 16. The verification of documents of candidates, qualified for both the 80% and 20% categories will be held in the respective Departments from 12.00 Noon onwards on the specified dates, to be notified in due course of time. 17. All admissions done on online system are strictly provisional. 18. Admission will be cancelled out- rightly if the information stated in the applications are not found in conformity with the documents submitted at the time of verification or any fake document is produced. 19. If at any stage, it is found that a candidate has concealed, suppressed or distorted any information/fact in the application form, his/her admission shall be summarily cancelled. 20.
