Introduction This non-financial statement for 2020 presents data and indicators for Grupa Azoty S.A. and the Group in which Grupa Azoty S.A. is the parent (“Grupa Azoty”, the “Grupa Azoty Group”, and the “Group”). In accordance with the Accounting Act, Grupa Azoty S.A. is subject to regulatory obligations at the level of: 1. The Grupa Azoty Group, 2. The Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Puławy S.A. Group (the “Grupa Azoty Puławy Group”, the “Puławy Group”) and the parent Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Puławy S.A. (“Grupa Azoty Puławy”), 3. The Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne Police S.A. Group (the “Grupa Azoty Police Group”, the “Police Group”) and the parent Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne Police S.A. (“Grupa Azoty Police”). The qualitative and quantitative data is presented according to this breakdown. This non-financial statement has been prepared in accordance with the guidelines contained in Directives of the Eu- ropean Parliament and of the Council (2014/95/EU and 2013/34/EU) and in the Accounting Act, concerning disclosure of non-financial information. 2. Management area The management process at the Grupa Azoty Group is carried out in a responsible manner with a view to achieving sustainable development, materialising in an in- tegrated approach to social, economic and environmental aspects. Create value for Grupa Azoty and the national economy by delivering safe, useful Mission and innovation-driven chemical products Deploy state-of-the-art, comprehensive chemical industry solutions that meet Vision stakeholder expectations Key products and services The Grupa Azoty Group’s business is divided into the following five segments: 1. Agro Fertilizers This is the key area of the Grupa Azoty Group’s business. The segment manufactures mineral nitro- gen, nitrogen-sulfur, nitrogen-phosphorus, compound, and speciality fertilizers. This group also in- cludes ammonia and other nitrogen-based intermediate products. The segment’s manufacturing activities are conducted by the companies based in Tarnów, Puławy, Kędzierzyn, Police, Gdańsk, Chorzów, as well as Germany and Spain. The Grupa Azoty Group is Poland’s largest and European Union’s second largest manufacturer of mineral fertilizers. 2. Plastics The Plastics segment accounts for the second largest share in the Grupa Azoty Group’s total sales. Its product portfolio includes: Tarnamid®, Alphalon® (trade names of polyamide 6), Tarnoform® (trade name of polyacetal (POM)), as well as polyamide 6- and polyacetal-based modified plastics. The Group is the leading manufacturer of PA6 in Poland and the third largest producer of this polyamide in the European Union. The principal investment project among the Grupa Azoty Group’s ongoing projects – a new polypropylene production unit being built as part of the Polimery Police strategic investment project – will be presented in this segment. 3. Chemicals This segment comprises the following business segments: OXO products (OXO alcohols, plasticisers), pigments (titanium white), melamine, as well as smaller product groups, perceived by the market as less homogenous: technical grade urea, sulfur, catalysts and others. They are manufactured in Kędzierzyn, Puławy, Police, and Grzybów. The Group is a major manufacturer of melamine globally and the third largest in the European Union. As regards OXO products, the Group is the only manu- facturer of OXO alcohols in Poland and the fifth largest in the European Union. The Group is Poland’s only producer of titanium white. 4. Energy Grupa Azoty Group’s main production plants operate their own electricity and heat generating units. Given that Grupa Azoty Group companies operate their own energy distribution networks and captive generation has a major role in the base chemicals business, the Grupa Azoty Group identi- fies Energy as a separate auxiliary internal segment. 5. Other Activities The Other Activities segment comprises laboratory services, rentals, maintenance and other ser- vices (automation, design, repairs, etc.), logistics, infrastructure management, environmental pro- tection, and research. Relevant geographical markets: Most of the Grupa Azoty Group’s products are sold in Poland, with exports going mainly to EU member states, in particular Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Italy, France, and Belgium. Fertilizers and chemicals (urea and OXO alcohols) are the key product groups sold in the domestic market. Products exported to EU countries include mainly fertilizers (such as Saletrosan® 26, Ammonium Sulfate AS21, Salmag®, Pulan®, RSM®, Polifoska®), plastics and OXO alcohols, whereas products exported to Asia – polyamide PA-6. Fertilizers manufactured by the Grupa Azoty Group are also sold in South American markets. 2.1. Structure of the Grupa Azoty Group Over the last few years, Grupa Azoty S.A. successfully consolidated Poland’s largest chemical plants with an aim of harnessing their combined potential to deliver a common strategy, and acquired the COMPO EXPERT Group, a global manufacturer of speciality fertilizers selling its products to nearly a hundred countries, thus strengthening the Group’s position among Europe’s largest chemical companies. The Grupa Azoty Group includes Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A., owner of the Polimery Police project, one of the largest investment projects in the chemical industry expected to make Poland one of Europe’s leading polypropylene producers. The project will result in the construction of a petrochemical complex centred around: a PDH propylene unit (with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tonnes), a polypropylene unit (with an annual production capacity of 437,000 tonnes) with a logistics base. The chemical complex will also feature a handling and storage terminal (gas port) and auxiliary systems. The Grupa Azoty Group includes more than 50 businesses which distribute their products mainly to the European Union, South America, Asia, Africa and North America. A vast majority of our produc- tion capacities are located in Poland, with some production plants in Germany and Spain. Relative Significance of Stored and Newly Absorbed Nitrogen Hadi Susilo, Ying-Chun Peng, and Yao-Chien Alex Chang1 Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, National Taiwan University, 1 Roosevelt Road Sec. 4, Taipei 10617, Taiwan ADDITIONAL INDEX WORDS. moth orchid, nitrogen-15, nitrogen partitioning, nutrient mobilization, sink-source relationship, stable isotope ABSTRACT. Phalaenopsis orchid is a slow-growing crop that responds slowly to fertilization. In this study, we used 15N- labeled Johnson’s solution to investigate the accumulation and use of fertilizer nitrogen (N) during the vegetative and reproductive growth stages of Phalaenopsis Sogo Yukidian ‘V3’ with a focus on the nitrogen source for inflorescence development. Labeling of fertilizer applied to mature plants 6 weeks before forcing or at 6 weeks into forcing showed that in the inflorescence, the ratio of N derived from fertilizer applied 6 weeks before forcing to the N derived from fertilizer applied 6 weeks into forcing was 31% to 69%, which shows the importance of newly absorbed fertilizer for supplying the N needed for inflorescence development. The fate of fertilizer N applied during the small, medium, or large plant stage of vegetative Phalaenopsis Sogo Yukidian ‘V3’ was traced separately with 15N-labeling. The capacity of the plant to accumulate N after fertilizer application was different during the various stages of vegetative growth, with large plants having more N storage capacity as a result of their greater biomass. However, the percentage of the accumulated N that was later allocated to the inflorescence was similar regardless of the stage of fertilizer application: of the fertilizer N absorbed during various stages of the vegetative period, 6% to 8% was allocated to the inflorescence at the visible bud stage.

TOWARDS AN INTEGRATED MARKET FOR SEEDS AND FERTILIZERS IN WEST AFRICA Abstract To improve farmer access to quality seeds and fertilizers, West African governments have been working through ECOWAS and other regional organizations to develop harmonized rules for input trade for many years. After extensive consultations, regional regulations based on advanced international standards have mostly been agreed upon and are already helping to guide quality improvements in some countries. Despite these encouraging signs, most countries do not currently have the physical capacity or institutional structures needed to implement the agreed trade rules which will take considerable time and investment to develop. The analysis, therefore, points to a need for pragmatic solutions that are easy for individual countries or groups of countries to implement in the near term while longer-term progress towards full harmonization continues. Key words Africa, regional trade, crop inputs, harmonization Acknowledgements This working paper is the result of numerous consultations with seed, fertilizer, and regional trade experts in West Africa who generously gave their time for interviews, for sharing data, and for answering questions after the country visits. The complete list of individuals met is too long for this page, but the team would like everyone to know that their time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

  • Fully Trap the Limiting Resource (P) Until P Becomes Totally Restricted
Annals of Tropical Research 4123242 ( ): - (201 9 ) © VSU, Leyte, Philippines Direct 33P labeling approach is a very powerful technique that has high sensitivity in tracing the fate of added phosphorus (P) fertilizers across various P pools. Nonetheless, only a few studies have used this approach. This study traced the fate of applied P fertilizer in acidic P-limited soil using the 33 P labeling approach. 33 The incorporation of P-labeled KH2 PO 4 in available P (P AEM ), microbial biomass P (Pmic ) and Fe/Al-bound P (P NaOH ) pools was followed in Cambisol as influenced by C and N sources applied as glucose and ammonium sulfate, respectively. Results showed that not all of the added P fertilizer remains in available pool; instead, it was distributed to poorly-available pools. Fast, almost instantaneous P fixation by the Fe and Al oxides and immobilization by microbial uptake were recorded. Applying glucose boosts microbial growth and demand for P, resulting in increased 33P 33 33 recovery. High P recovery in Pmic (20% of the applied P) and in P NaOH (45% of applied 33P) showed the dominance of P immobilization by microorganisms and adsorption by Fe and Al oxides on the fate of P in an acidic soil. Nevertheless, these can contribute to long-term P availability after the turnover of microbial biomass and desorption of fixed P. Keywords: 33P isotopic labeling, Phosphorus dynamics , Phosphorus availability , Phosphorus fractions, Microbial biomass P , P-limited soil Phosphorus (P) as orthophosphate is essential to life as a structural and functional component of all living organisms and cannot be substituted by any other nutrient (Chimdi et al 2014, Frossard et al 2016).

  • EPC Contract Signed with Contractor for Polimery Police Project
11.05.2019 EPC contract signed with contractor for Polimery Police project. Polypropylene unit to enter commercial operation in three years’ time. On May 11th 2019, PDH Polska S.A., a company owned by Grupa Azoty and Grupa Azoty Police, signed a contract for turnkey execution of the Polimery Police project with Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd, marking a milestone in what is the largest chemical project in years. The contract provides for comprehensive implementation of the Polimery Police project, a new petrochemical complex in Police comprising five sub-projects: (1) a propane dehydrogenation unit (PDH Unit), (2) a polypropylene unit (PP Unit), (3) a system for packaging, storage, logistics and dispatch of polypropylene, (4) auxiliary units and inter-unit connections, and (5) a handling and storage terminal comprising port facilities for the unloading and storage of propane and ethylene from seagoing vessels. The target capacity of the PDH Unit is 400,000 tonnes of propylene with a purity of 99.6% by volume (polymer grade) per 8,000 hours, and that of the PP Unit – 400,000 tonnes of polypropylene per 8,000 hours. “The implementation of this strategic project is a landmark event for the Grupa Azoty Group and the Polish chemical industry. Once brought on stream, Polimery Police will help us significantly and strategically diversify our business into the promising and fast-growing plastics market, particularly the polypropylene market segment. We expect the share of the plastics business in consolidated revenue will expand from around 16% in 2018 to over 30% in a few years’ time. Stepping up our efforts to expand non-fertilizer business lines will allow us to diversify revenue sources and mitigate seasonal fluctuations in demand.

30.08.2013 Police with its own deposits of phosphate rock in Senegal Groupa Azoty Police began to invest in Senegal, which has become a foothold of the Company to expand into other markets in Africa. The first step in establishing its position in this market was the acquisition of a 55% stake in African Investment Group SA (www.aig-online.eu). AIG holds licenses for access to deposits of phosphate rock and ilmenites in Senegal. Owing to this transaction, Grupa Azoty Police has become the first Polish chemical company which has its own resources. Independence from external suppliers as early as next year will enable the company to save about 30m PLN. "The investment in the deposits is the beginning of the Company's expansion into African markets and Senegal will be the centre of production and distribution of fertilizers to other countries in Africa. To optimize the whole process, vessels transporting raw materials to Police, on their way back will take fertilizers for sale in African markets. In a few years we plan to start our own production of phosphoric acid," said Krzysztof Jałosiński, President of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne “Police” S.A. Details of the transactionGroupa Azoty Police S.A. acquired a controlling stake in African Investment Group S.A., Dakar, Senegal.
